Magnetic flux density measurements in rotating machines
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part I: Communication and Electronics, 1955The Hall effect in a semiconductor is utilized to measure the flux density in the air gap of a rotating machine under transient conditions of starting and loading. This method offers several advantages over the conventional exploring-coil generator. Measurements of the flux density in a synchronous converter were made to demonstrate its applicability.
