Investigating the Influence of Design Frequency on the Ultrasonic Signal of PFSV‐EMATs

open access: yesJournal of Sensors, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
The point‐focusing shear vertical wave electromagnetic acoustic transducer (PFSV‐EMAT) with a concentric meander line (CML) coil has been developed to detect and size micro defection concealed within a certain depth of materials. It is proved to be sensitive to the design frequency, which is associated with the spacing of CML coil.

The Research of 30 mm Detecting Distance of Testing Device for Wire Rope Based on Open Magnetizer

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Wire rope will have defects such as local faults (LF) and loss of metal area (LMA) during the long-term using process. The nondestructive testing method of magnetic flux leakage (MFL) has been widely used in wire rope defect detection.

Nondestructive Testing for Corrosion Evaluation of Metal under Coating

open access: yesJournal of Sensors, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
The use of steel has grown rapidly over the past decades. However, corrosion under coating detection still presents challenges for nondestructive testing (NDT) techniques. One of such challenges is the lift‐off introduced by complex structures. Inaccessibility due to structure leads corrosion to be undetected, which can lead to catastrophic failure ...

Research on 3D MFL testing of wire rope based on empirical wavelet transform and SRCNN [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Magnetic flux leakage (MFL) testing is one of the most effective methods in nondestructive testing of wire rope. However, traditional MFL testing devices have problems such as low recognition rate, single detection dimension and fuzzy magnetic leakage ...
