Adiabatic orbit theories are found inapplicable to fusion reactors because (a) zero‐energy ions are incompatible with the Lawson Criterion; (b) adiabatic orbits are incompatible with orbit focusing which is crucial to modern magnetic confinement. They are replaced by exact cyclic accelerator orbit theory of single particle confinement using the ‘‘field

Generic magnetic fusion rocket model
29th Joint Propulsion Conference and Exhibit, 1993A generic magnetic fusion rocket model is developed and used to explore the limits of fusion propulsion systems. Two fusion fuels are examined, D-T and D-(He-3), and the D-(He-3) fuel cycle is found to give a higher specific power in almost all parameter regimes.

Magnetic-Based Indoor Localization Using Smartphone via a Fusion Algorithm
IEEE Sensors Journal, 2019The detection of indoor location based on magnetic fields collected by embedded sensors in smartphones has been progressed rapidly. Most current approaches rely on the particle filter (PF) scheme which combines the pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR ...

These lectures on Magnetic Fusion Energy are presented as the transcript of the discussion of the large number of slides and drawings taken from many sources within the U.S. MFE program. In particular, I would like to mention Hal Furth of Princeton, John Dawson at UCLA, the Washington Head Office and may colleagues in the Mirror Program at the ...

The technological, political, and economic status of magnetic fusion research in the United States is discussed. Governmental and political scenarios for the development of magnetic fusion are assessed. A range of research is reviewed, including such programs as the Compact Ignition Tokamak, the Jet, TFTR, and JT-60 tokamaks, the DIII-D reactor, laser ...

Introduction The goal of Chapter 13 is to describe the various magnetic configurations currently under investigation as potential fusion reactors. As will become apparent there is a substantial number of concepts to discuss. To succeed, each of these concepts has to successfully overcome the problems not only of MHD equilibrium and stability ( p ...
