Basic Study of a Magnetically Levitated Conveyer Using Superconducting Magnetic Levitation
IEEE Transactions on Appiled Superconductivity, 2005This paper discusses a newly developed conveyer that uses superconducting levitation. The conveyer is composed of a levitated stage with a permanent magnet (PM) and a superconductor with an electromagnet and a Hall sensor. The gap between the PM stage and the superconductor is detected by using the Hall sensor and the current of the electromagnet coil.

In this chapter, we will illustrate the synthesis and experimental results of the MPC-reference governor (MPC-RG) strategy as described in Sect. 4.2. The MPC-RG optimization problem will be solved parametrically and implemented in a real-time fashion on a microchip with limited computational and memory resources. The viability of the MPC-RG strategy is

Designing and constructing superconducting magnetic levitation (Maglev) trains using bulk superconductors and magnets is an exciting topic that can challenge science students. In a commercially available magnetic levitation train, a superconducting magnet and electromagnet are used to lift the train and move it on the rail.

Permanent Magnetic Levitation and Stability
2001Magnetic levitation applications are becoming more prevalent because permanent magnetic materials have improved in recent years, and their intrinsic instability can be conveniently hindered. In this paper the best current magnetic materials, the rare earths and especially the NdFeB alloy, are presented.

This paper brings some general knowledge about magnetic levitation devices used for aesthetic and entertainment purposes. Two major principles are discussed while their advantages and disadvantages are pointed out. A new principal of hanging-type levitation device is constructed where permanent magnets are implemented into closed-loop magnetic system ...
