Magnetic Loss in Microwave Heating

Applied Physics Express, 2012
A simplified equation for quantifying magnetic loss in materials under microwave irradiation was derived to demonstrate the importance of magnetic loss in microwave heating. The magnetic losses for five ferrites, namely, BaFe12O19, SrFe12O19, CuFe2O4, CuZnFe4O4, and NiZnFe4O4 were calculated at 2.45 GHz using the derived equation.

Evolution of magnetic loss with annealing temperature in FeSiAl/carbonyl iron soft magnetic composite

Materials technology (New York, N.Y.), 2022
The evolution of magnetic loss of FeSiAl/carbonyl iron powder cores annealed at different temperatures was investigated. The experimental results reveal that the magnetic permeability of FeSiAl/carbonyl iron core increases as the annealing temperature ...

In Situ Direct Magnetic Loss Measurement With Improved Accuracy for Lossier Magnetics

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2022
Magnetic loss often tops the power converter’s loss breakdown chart. The optimization of a magnetic component is, therefore, crucial in developing an efficient power converter. However, it is difficult to verify the design of magnetic components in situ,

Direct in-situ Measurement of Magnetic Loss in Power Electronic Circuits

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2021
Timing skew between measurement channels can introduce an unacceptable error in power loss measurement and is difficult to quantify, rendering precise in-situ measurement of magnetic loss essentially unattainable.
