Off-Diagonal Magnetoimpedance in Annealed Amorphous Microwires with Positive Magnetostriction: Effect of External Stresses

open access: yesMagnetism, 2023
It was observed recently that the giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect in Fe-rich glass-coated amorphous microwires with positive magnetostriction can be improved significantly by means of post-annealing.

How do magnetic microwires interact magnetostatically? [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2009
The magnetostatic interaction between two ferromagnetic microwires is calculated as a function of their geometric parameters and compared with those measured through magnetic hysteresis loops of glass-coated amorphous Fe77.5Si7.5B15 microwires.

Multimodal Imaging of Strain and Light Emission of Core–Shell InGaN/GaN Wires under a Sub‐Micrometer Polychromatic X‐Ray Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 4, 17 February 2026.
Micro‐Laue diffraction and excited optical X‐ray luminescence are used to study InGaN/GaN core‐shell wires on the BM32 beamline at the European Synchrotron. Multimodal imaging of X‐ray fluorescence, deviatoric strain tensors and optical emissions is performed using simultaneous mapping.

Magnetically generated spin-orbit coupling for ultracold atoms

open access: yes, 2013
We present a new technique for producing two- and three-dimensional Rashba-type spin-orbit couplings for ultracold atoms without involving light. The method relies on a sequence of pulsed inhomogeneous magnetic fields imprinting suitable phase gradients ...

Effect of Joule heating on GMI and magnetic properties of Fe-rich glass-coated microwires

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
Influence of Joule heating on magnetic properties and GMI effect of Fe75B9Si12C4 glass-coated microwires was studied. A decrease in coercivity after Joule heating is observed, while hysteresis loops of Joule heated samples maintain a rectangular shape ...

Tuneable Composites Containing Magnetic Microwires

open access: yes, 2011
This chapter provides a comprehensive review on tuneable electromagnetic properties of magnetic wire composites. In these systems, the microwave permittivity and permeability (response to the electric and magnetic field in the wave, respectively) can be controlled by a weak magnetic field, mechanical stress, and temperature.
