Magnetic Nanocomposites for Permanent Magnets
2010The influence of different crystallization conditions on the microstructure and magnetic hardening of RE-Fe-B amorphous ribbons with different Fe concentrations and Pr and Nd as rare earth elements was analyzed. The microalloying effects of Zr and Ti substitution on the evolution of crystallization process and the magnetic hardening was also discussed.

Nanocomposites For magnetic Refrigeration
MRS Proceedings, 1992ABSTRACTUpon the application of an external magnetic field, the magnetic spins in a material partially align with the field, thereby reducing the magnetic entropy of the spin system. When performed adiabatically, the specimen's temperature will rise.

Magnetic-fluorescent nanocomposites for biomedical multitasking
Chemical Communications, 2006Fluorescent magnetite nanocomposites based on magnetic nanoparticles, a polyhedral octaaminopropylsilsesquioxane and a porphyrin derivative have been prepared. The intracellular uptake of the nanocomposites by macrophage and bone osteoblast cells, and their potential as MRI contrast agents, has been demonstrated.

Permanent Magnetism In Exchange-Coupled Nanocomposites
MRS Proceedings, 1999ABSTRACTThe magnetic properties of permanent magnetic nanocomposites are investigated both experimentally and by model calculations. Rare-earth transition-metal films and nanocomposite thin films containing a L10hard phase (PtFe) have been prepared by plasma sputtering and heat treatment.

Magnetically tunable nanocomposites for microwave applications
2010 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, 2010In this work, tunability of the microwave properties of Magneto-Dielectric Polymer Nanocomposites (MDPNCs) has been demonstrated for the first time. Particularly, permeability, permittivity and loss factor were tuned by an externally applied DC magnetic field with strength achievable by commercial permanent magnets. The considerable tunability, ease of

Interactions in fluorescent-magnetic heterodimer nanocomposites
Nanotechnology, 2010A new bifunctional nanocomposite, consisting of CdTe quantum dots complexed with FeP nanoparticles, was synthesized using a one-pot, high temperature precursor decomposition method. Nanocomposites formed consisted of heterofunctional, dumbbell shaped particles, which exhibited supplementary and altered properties from those of constituent particles ...
