Dynamics of magnetic flux tubes in accretion disks of Herbig Ae/Be stars

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2022
The dynamics of magnetic flux tubes (MFTs) in the accretion disk of typical Herbig Ae/Be star (HAeBeS) with fossil large-scale magnetic field is modeled taking into account the buoyant and drag forces, radiative heat exchange with the surrounding gas ...

Imaging spin-inelastic Friedel oscillations emerging from magnetic impurities

open access: yes, 2012
We consider inelastic scattering of localized magnetic moments coupled with the electrons on the surface. We argue that spin-inelastic transitions of the magnetic impurities generate oscillations at a momentum $k$, corresponding to the inelastic mode, in

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Quantum oscillations of the magnetic properties in Mn-diluted (Mn, Ga)4C alloys

open access: yesAIP Advances
High purity antiperovskite-type Mn3−xGa1+xC (0 < x ≤ 0.3) alloys with varied Mn-concentration were prepared by using the solid state reaction method. The Curie temperature and the magnetization of Mn3−xGa1+xC were observed to oscillate as a function of x.

The self-similar, non-linear evolution of rotating magnetic flux ropes [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 1995
We study, in the ideal MHD approximation, the non-linear evolution of cylindrical magnetic flux tubes differentially rotating about their symmetry axis. Our force balance consists of inertial terms, which include the centrifugal force, the gradient of

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Large-scale magnetic field oscillations and their effects on modulating energetic electron precipitation

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
In this study, we present simultaneous multi-point observations of magnetospheric oscillations on a time scale of tens of minutes (forced-breathing mode) and modulated whistler-mode chorus waves, associated with concurrent energetic electron ...

Synthetic observations of wave propagation in a sunspot umbra

open access: yes, 2014
Spectropolarimetric temporal series from Fe I $\lambda$ 6301.5 \AA\ and Ca II infrared triplet lines are obtained by applying the Stokes synthesis code NICOLE to a numerical simulation of wave propagation in a sunspot umbra from MANCHA code. The analysis

Hot‐Film and Calorimetric Methods With Transient Heating for Measurement of High Biofluid Flow Rate

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Accurate measurement of biofluid flow rate is vital for clinical diagnostics. We propose a transient heating strategy using short thermal pulses and peak temperature tracking to enhance the flow sensitivity of the hot‐Film and calorimetric methods. Simulations show how optimal heating time maximizes sensitivity across flow rates.

Determination of magnetoelastic oscillations in ferrite plate with different values of anisotropy constant

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
The maximum amplitudes of magnetic and elastic oscillations are calculated at various material parameters and parameters of external fields. Normally and tangentially magnetized anisotropic magnetic plates were considered.
