Efficient welding conditions in magnetic pulse welding process

Journal of Manufacturing Processes, 2012
This study investigates the experimental research of the appropriated conditions for the magnetic pulse welding of AA6060T6 tubular assembly. Some welding tests were performed with two process parameters: the charging voltage and the width of the air gap between the two parts to be welded.

Magnetic Pulse Welding and Design

2021
Advent of a polyvalent solid-state cold-welding process titled “Magnetic Pulse Welding (MPW)” has un-wrapped scope for reconnoitering uncommon metallurgical behaviors. For a researcher investigating MPW welding with a view to applying it for non-ferrous and dissimilar materials, the available literatures is to some extent, sporadic, and scanty.

Welding Interface in Magnetic Pulse Welded Joints

Materials Science Forum, 2010
Magnetic pulse welding was applied to the lap joining of similar (Al/Al) and dissimilar materials (Al/Fe, Al/Cu, and Al/Ni). The magnetic pulse welding is a kind of impact welding represented by explosive welding. The impact energy is induced by electromagnetic force generated by interaction among discharge pulse, induced magnetic flux, and eddy ...

Modelling of Tubes Magnetic Pulse Welding

Volume 1: Advanced Computational Mechanics; Advanced Simulation-Based Engineering Sciences; Virtual and Augmented Reality; Applied Solid Mechanics and Material Processing; Dynamical Systems and Control, 2012
Magnetic pulse process is used in the forming and welding processes. In order to predict the welding conditions, it is necessary to have an accurate modeling, which involves a coupling between magnetic and mechanical phenomena. In a first step, a numerical modeling of the magnetic field has been developed in the finite elements software ANSYS™, and the
