Review of magnetic pulse welding

open access: yesJournal of Welding and Joining, 2015
Magnetic pulse welding(MPW) is a solid state welding process that is accomplished by a magnetic pulse causing a high-velocity impact on two materials, resulting in a true metallurgical bond. One of the great advantages of MPW is that it is suitable for joining dissimilar metals.

3D‐Nanoprinted Fluidically Steerable Soft Robotic Microcatheters

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work introduces a ∼3‐French (1 mm‐in‐diameter) soft robotic microcatheter fabricated by means of two‐photon direct laser writing. The 3D‐printed microcatheter enables remote, on‐demand steering via microfluidic actuation for guidewire‐free navigation of vascular networks as well as microcatheter‐mediated delivery of fluidic payloads to target ...

Microsphere‐Modulated Sensing‐in‐Energy Supercapacitor With Self‐Filtering Ultra‐Large Signal Under High‐g Shocks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To overcome severe signal oscillation under extreme impact conditions, this work presents a Sensing‐in‐Energy microdevice which integrates a MEMS inertial structure directly within a supercapacitor electrolyte cavity. Utilizing shock‐driven transient contact and electrolyte damping for signal self‐filtering, it achieves weak‐oscillation, large ...

Ionic Elastomer Interface for Low‐Pressure and Durable All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports an ionically conductive elastomer that enables stable all‐solid‐state batteries(ASSBs)under low external pressure. The soft elastomeric matrix, integrated with a LiG3‐based conductive phase(lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide and triethylene glycol dimethyl ether), simultaneously delivers high ionic conductivity and mechanical ...

Interface Formation during Collision Welding of Aluminum

open access: yesMetals, 2020
Collision welding is a high-speed joining technology based on the plastic deformation of at least one of the joining partners. During the process, several phenomena like the formation of a so-called jet and a cloud of particles occur and enable bond ...

Effects of process parameters on mechanical performance and interfacial morphology of electromagnetic pulse welded joints between aluminum and galvanized steel

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
Magnetic pulse welding (MPW) exhibits an enormous advantage on welded joints of dissimilar metals. Various process parameters (discharge energy and standoff distance) were considered to weld aluminum alloys and galvanized steels by MPW.

METHODS OF MAGNETIC PULSE WELDING

open access: yesIZVESTIA VOLGOGRAD STATE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY
The article presents the features of various methods of pulsed welding in the solid phase using magnetic pressure according to a scheme with normal loading. A scheme of magnetic-pulse welding, implemented through electrical discharge cleaning without oblique impact, is described. Magnetic pressure is used for forming and welding.
