Blood Biomarkers and Surface‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy for Gout: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustrating gout disease progression from asymptomatic hyperuricemia to chronic tophaceous disease, highlighting the limitations of conventional imaging and biochemical diagnostics and the potential of engineered SERS platforms for ultrasensitive blood‐based detection of urate‐related biomarkers across disease stages, with the color gradient

Microenvironment engineering unveils surface methoxy species origination in zeolite-catalyzed methanol chemistry under mild conditions

open access: yesNature Communications
Which came first, the chicken or the egg? This age-old riddle is also present for the formation sequence of the surface methoxy species and dimethyl ether in zeolite-catalyzed methanol chemistry due to their inevitable interconversion at high ...

NMR Environmental Noise Suppression Method Based on Multi-channel Transformer Reconstruction

open access: yesChinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance
Portable nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometers are susceptible to external electromagnetic interference (EMI), leading to low signal-to-noise ratio and reduced analytical accuracy.

A Molecular Shielding Strategy to Develop Low Protein Binding, Renal Clearable Pan‐Cancer Near‐Infrared Probes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A molecular shielding strategy to convert “protein‐sticky” and “non‐tumor specific” clinical ICG dye, into a “low protein binding” and “tumor‐targeting” dye with prolonged blood circulation and renal clearance is described. These shielded ICGs demonstrate strong tumor accumulation and optimal tissue clearance, resulting in high tumor‐to‐background ...

Protamine-1 encoded recombinant adeno-associated virus for enhanced brain magnetic resonance imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance Letters
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a powerful tool for diagnosing and monitoring brain diseases, but its low sensitivity can hinder early detection. To address this challenge, we utilized chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI, which greatly ...

Powering Nanocrystal‐Based Heat Engines With Light‐Emitting Metasurfaces That Influence Their Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurfaces and other structured photonic environments can dramatically modify the absorption and/or light emission of semiconductors. However, the consequences of these changes on the temperature of the system are not well understood. The authors address this problem for colloidal nanocrystals and leverage their findings to convert light into ...

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Real-time motion and main magnetic field correction in MR spectroscopy using an EPI volumetric navigator

open access: yes, 2011
In population groups where subjects do not lie still during Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) scans, real-time volume of interest (VOI), frequency, and main magnetic field (B0) shim correction may be necessary.
