Magnetic Beads With High Saturation Magnetization

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2007
Magnetic beads with the core-shell structure of an iron core encapsulated by titanium oxide and silica shell layers were prepared. The beads, HMM-beads, exhibited soft magnetic properties with high magnetization of 105 Amiddotm2/kg and low coercitivity of ~4 kA/m. HMM-beads with a diameter of 3 mum showed DNA isolation performance comparable to that of

Selective saturation in magnetization transfer experiments

Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 1994
AbstractThe concept of magnetic saturation in single and binary spin systems is essential to the understanding of magnetization transfer experiments. This paper outlines the requirements for selective magnetic saturation of either of two spin pools contained in a mixture, both having identical chemical shifts. Following a brief discussion of saturation

Magnetization Near Saturation in Polycrystalline Ferromagnets

Physical Review, 1941
An important mechanism involved in the variation of the magnetization of ferromagnets near saturation is the rotation of the magnetization vector under the combined influence of the magnetic field and crystalline anisotropy torques. The effect of this mechanism in polycrystalline specimens has been calculated by Akulov and Gans; their result is ${M}_ ...

Saturation magnetic recording process

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1971
This review of the saturation magnetic recording process is tutorial in approach. The emphasis throughout is on the development of intuitive understanding as well as the development of a first-order analysis (good to 10-20 percent) of the process. By means of treating two different functional approximations to the magnetization distribution in the ...

Self-saturation in magnetic amplifiers

Electrical Engineering, 1949
SATURABLE reactors, in their simpler forms, have been used in controlling many types of equipment. As is known, control is effected by adjustment of the reactor impedance with d-c premagnetization. The a-c windings are so connected that no fundamental component of power-frequency voltage appears in the d-c control winding.

MAGNETIC PARAMETRIC NUCLEAR SPIN SATURATION

Applied Physics Letters, 1968
Parametric magnetic Δm = ±2 nuclear spin transitions are observed when an rf magnetic field at the frequency (Em−2 − Em)/h is applied parallel to a large, externally applied, magnetic field in a ruby crystal where the symmetry axis of the cylindrically symmetric electric field gradient tensor (the c axis in ruby) is perpendicular to the external ...
