Mie scattering of magnetic spheres
Physical Review E, 2004The Mie scattering intensity of a magnetic sphere has been derived by extending the classical Mie scattering approach to a media where the dielectric constant is no more a real number but a tensor with a gyrotropic form. Using a perturbation method the propagation equations of the electromagnetic field are derived.

On the Magnetic Scattering of Neutrons
Physical Review, 1937The scattering of slow neutrons by atoms is considered, assuming that, in addition to the ordinary nuclear forces, there is a magnetic interaction between the neutron and the atomic electrons. It is found that the neutrons scattered from an unpolarized beam will be partially polarized in virtue of this magnetic interaction.

Magnetic scattering of neutrons in magnetic superconductors
Solid State Communications, 1980Abstract The magnetic dipolar interaction responsible for the neutron scattering due to magnetic moments in a crystal is affected by the persistent current in the superconducting state. From this effect, the small angle scattering of neutrons is strongly depressed, and the intensity maximum of the critical scattering appears at a finite scattering ...

The nature of magnetic monopoles in an SO(3) gauge theory is explored by examining how they scatter charged particles. Peripheral scattering, where the momentum transfer is much less than the mass of the charged vector bosons, is just as it is in the earlier theory of Dirac.

Magnetic scattering in praseodymium
Physica B+C, 1977Abstract The effect of the crystal field levels on the resistivity of Pr has been calculated as a function of temperature and magnetic field. Good qualitative agreement with measurements of the transverse magnetoresistance up to 8 T has been achieved.

Magnetic scattering experiments
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2001We discuss the relative use of neutrons and X-rays as scattering tools to probe the magnetic properties of materials. Neutron diffraction experiments continue to be the most appropriate tool to determine the magnetic structure of bulk solids. Synchrotron X-ray experiments are and will be used to investigate selectively the magnetic behaviour of ...

Magnetic neutron and X-ray scattering experiments have been performed to analyze the magnetic structure of GdCu2. At 10K a noncollinear, spiral propagation with a propagation vector t = (0.677 10) fits best to the experimental data. The symmetry of the exchange interaction needed for the formation of such a magnetic structure is discussed using a mean ...
