Superconducting magnetic separation
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1988After a brief review of magnetic separator requirements, the major systems delivered to date are described and some possible future developments are outlined. Both open-gradient and matrix separators are considered. The advantages to be gained by using superconducting magnets are then briefly outlined.

[Separation of magnetic bacteria by using a magnetic separator].
Sheng wu gong cheng xue bao = Chinese journal of biotechnology, 2011A magnetic separator was used to separate magnetic bacteria based on their magnetotactic characteristics. Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, a bacterium that could synthesize intra-cellular nanometer magnetic particles, was investigated as an example. Strong magnetic and weak magnetic cells were separated and collected.
