Magnetic Direct-Write Skyrmion Nanolithography [PDF]

open access: yesACS Nano, 2020
Magnetic skyrmions are stable spin textures with quasi-particle behavior and attract significant interest in fundamental and applied physics. The metastability of magnetic skyrmions at zero magnetic field is particularly important to enable, for instance, a skyrmion racetrack memory. Here, the results of the nucleation of stable skyrmions and formation

Dynamics of Elliptical Magnetic Skyrmion in Defective Racetrack. [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials (Basel)
Recently, it has been reported that the skyrmion Hall effect can be suppressed in an elliptical skyrmion-based device. Given that defects are unavoidable in materials, it is necessary and important to investigate the dynamics of an elliptical skyrmion in

Magnetic skyrmion braids. [PDF]

open access: yesNat Commun, 2021
AbstractSkyrmions are vortex-like spin textures that form strings in magnetic crystals. Due to the analogy to elastic strings, skyrmion strings are naturally expected to braid and form complex three-dimensional patterns, but this phenomenon has not been explored yet.

Programmable Topological Magnetic Textures in Above-Room-Temperature 2D Ferromagnet Fe3GaTe2. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
This work demonstrates the programmable generation and deterministic modulation of magnetic skyrmion bags with high‐order topological numbers in the above‐room‐temperature 2D ferromagnet Fe3GaTe2 (FGaT) via current‐pulse control. Furthermore, highly efficient electrical manipulation and current‐driven parallel motion of these high‐order topological ...

Blowing magnetic skyrmion bubbles [PDF]

open access: yesScience, 2015
Skyrmions emerge in trilayers Skyrmions are tiny whirlpools of magnetic spin with potential to act as carriers of information in future devices. Skyrmions have been observed in multiple materials but usually at impractically low temperatures. Jiang et al.

Observation of Magnetic-Anisotropy Crossover and High-Temperature Skyrmions in the Dirac Magnet Fe3Ge with a Distorted Kagome Lattice. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
A temperature‐driven magnetic anisotropy crossover is revealed in the Dirac kagome magnet Fe3Ge with a distorted kagome lattice. The transition from easy‐plane to easy‐axis magnetic anisotropy stabilizes robust Bloch‐type skyrmions over an exceptionally wide temperature window of 375–650 K.

Van der Waals Heterostructures for Next-Generation Spintronics: Multiferroic-Mediated Magnetoelectric Properties. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
As CMOS technology approaches fundamental energy limits, new paradigms for low‐power information processing are required. Magnetic systems are attractive for their spin transport, yet current‐induced magnetization control is energy inefficient. Multiferroic heterostructures enable energy‐efficient electric field manipulation of magnetism.

Room-Temperature Skyrmionic Synapse in 2D Ferromagnet Fe3GaTe2 Operating via Collective Spin Texture Transformation. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Mater
We demonstrate a neuromorphic synapse in 2D Fe3GaTe2 flakes. The device operates via a current‐driven transformation from a skyrmion‐lattice to a stripe‐domain state, yielding a linear anomalous Hall resistance response with a tunable slope to enable multiply‐accumulate operations. Simulations confirm its viability in artificial neural networks.
