Soft Magnetic Materials

2021
This chapter provides a review of soft magnetic materials (SMM’s) beginning with a cursory discussion of fundamental and technical magnetic properties followed by a summary of technically important soft magnetic materials classes. This is followed by a review of measurement techniques which are important for materials characterization in emerging SMM’s.

Nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials

Physica Scripta, 1992
Nanocrystalline structures offer a new opportunity for tailoring soft magnetic materials. The most prominent example are devitrified glassy FeCuNbSiB alloys which reveal a homogeneous ultrafine grain structure of bcc-FeSi with grain sizes of typically 10-15 nm and random texture. Owing to the small grain size the local magneto-crystalline anisotropy is

Remanent magnetization states of soft magnetic nanowires

INTERMAG 2006 - IEEE International Magnetics Conference, 2006
Stable magnetization configurations have been obtained for magnetically soft cylindrical nanowire depending on wire diameter, aspect ratio, and material parameters by means of two-dimensional numerical simulation. For a sufficiently long wire there are two stable configurations whose magnetization is twisted near the wire ends with the same or opposite

Magnetic vitrimer-based soft robotics

Soft Matter, 2022
We have developed a magnetic vitrimer-based soft robot that can pass through a confined space, dramatically change its configuration, self-heal without any contact, catch, secure and release a fast-moving object, and move along a planned path.

Soft-Magnetic Materials

2003
Soft-magnetic materials are mainly used in magnetic cores of transformers, motors, inductors, and generators. Of prime importance for applications in cores are a high permeability, low magnetic losses, and a low coercivity. Definitions of all these quantities are given in Fig. 14.1.1.

Soft Magnetic Ferrites

1991
Publisher Summary The utility of soft magnetic ferrites materials is based on a unique combination of three characteristics: high electrical resistivity, a wide range of magnetic properties, and the ease of fabrication using standard ceramics techniques.

Soft magnetic materials

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1990
The state of art is reviewed with an emphasis on recent research results and a view to identifying areas in which further developments in materials and processing might lead to even better properties and greater application of novel technology. Basis magnetic considerations are discussed, namely, B-H loop shape, core loss, magnetic anisotropy and ...

Magnetic Soft Matter

2023
Magnetically responsive soft matter is a colloidal model system where interparticle interactions can be tuned through external magnetic fields. Covering the most recent literature in the field, with special emphasis on the physical mechanisms behind their rheological behaviour, this book aims to demonstrate the controllability of soft matter through an
