Topographical metal burden correlates with brain atrophy and clinical severity in Wilson's disease

open access: yesNeuroImage
Background: Quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) is a post-processing technique that creates brain susceptibility maps reflecting metal burden through tissue magnetic susceptibility.

Parametric amplification of reversible transverse susceptibility in single domain magnetic nanoparticles

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
We propose, model, and experimentally demonstrate the enhancement of reversible transverse susceptibility in single domain magnetic nanoparticles through the principle of parametric amplification.

Magnetic susceptibility from electron holes [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2013
A recent theory of magnetic field amplification in electron holes is extended to derive the magnetic susceptibility of an electron-hole gas propagating in a magnetic flux tube along the ambient magnetic field.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Electromagnetic response of LaO_0.94F_0.06FeAs: AC susceptibility and microwave surface resistance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We discuss on the electromagnetic response of a polycrystalline sample of LaO_0.94F_0.06FeAs exposed to DC magnetic fields up to 10 kOe. The low- and high-frequency responses have been investigated by measuring the AC susceptibility at 100 kHz and the ...

Evaluation of in vitro toxicity of common phytochemicals included in weight loss supplements using 1H NMR spectroscopy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

Negative Impurity Magnetic Susceptibility and Heat Capacity in a Kondo Model with Narrow Peaks in the Local Density of Electron States

open access: yes, 2009
Temperature dependencies of the impurity magnetic susceptibility, entropy, and heat capacity have been obtained by the method of numerical renormalization group and exact diagonalization for the Kondo model with peaks in the electron density of states ...

Magnetic fluctuations and effective magnetic moments in \gamma-iron due to electronic structure peculiarities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Applying the local density and dynamical mean field approximations to paramagnetic \gamma-iron we revisit the problem of theoretical description of magnetic properties in a wide temperature range.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Nonlinear 2D Spin Susceptibility in a Finite Magnetic Field: Spin-Polarization Dependence

open access: yes, 2006
By theoretically calculating the interacting spin susceptibility of a two-dimensional electron system in the presence of finite spin polarization, we show that the extensively employed technique of measuring the 2D spin susceptibility by linear ...
