Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

Pictorial essay: Susceptibility-weighted imaging in cerebral ischemia

open access: yesIndian Journal of Radiology and Imaging, 2010
The susceptiblity effect in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been recognized for long and often has been considered undesirable, producing unnecessary noise.

Low magnetic disturbance analysis and testing of a novel proof mass type for gravitational reference sensor system

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2019
The proof mass used for gravitational-wave or Earth-gravity-field detection is usually comprised of materials such as gold–platinum alloys, which have a high density and low magnetic susceptibility, in order to reduce the magnetic disturbance produced by

Distributed Hybridization Model for Quantum Critical Behavior in Magnetic Quasicrystals

open access: yes, 2016
A quantum critical behavior of the magnetic susceptibility was observed in a quasicrystal containing ytterbium. At the same time, a mixed-valence feature of Yb ions was reported, which appears to be incompatible with the magnetic instability.

Evaluation of in vitro toxicity of common phytochemicals included in weight loss supplements using 1H NMR spectroscopy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

Nonlinear 2D Spin Susceptibility in a Finite Magnetic Field: Spin-Polarization Dependence

open access: yes, 2006
By theoretically calculating the interacting spin susceptibility of a two-dimensional electron system in the presence of finite spin polarization, we show that the extensively employed technique of measuring the 2D spin susceptibility by linear ...

Tumor‐stromal crosstalk and macrophage enrichment are associated with chemotherapy response in bladder cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemoresistance in bladder cancer: Macrophage recruitment associated with CXCL1, CXCL5 and CXCL8 expression is characteristic of Gemcitabine/Cisplatin (Gem/Cis) Non‐Responder tumors (right side) while Responder tumors did not show substantial tumor‐stromal crosstalk (left side). All biological icons are attributed to Bioicons: carcinoma, cancerous‐cell‐

Crossed responses of spin and orbital magnetism in topological insulators

open access: yes, 2016
Crossed magnetic responses between spin and orbital angular momentum are studied in time-reversal symmetric topological insulators. Due to spin-orbit coupling in the quantum spin Hall systems and three-dimensional topological insulators, the magnetic ...

Commensurate to incommensurate magnetic phase transition in Honeycomb-lattice pyrovanadate Mn2V2O7 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We have synthesized single crystalline sample of Mn$_2$V$_2$O$_7$ using floating zone technique and investigated the ground state using magnetic susceptibility, heat capacity and neutron diffraction.
