Effects of humidity on the magnetic and woody characteristics of powder-type magnetic wood
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2004Among three types of proposed magnetic wood, powder-type magnetic wood can be made of recycled magnetic materials from IT devices, consumer electronics and waste wood. Because of its wood powder content, powder-type magnetic wood shows special characteristics different from those of typical magnetic materials.

Proton magnetic resonance of wood and water in wood
2008Proton nuclear magnetic resonance (11-1 NMR ) was used to investigate protons in solid wood and compartmentalized water in the wood cell walls and lumens. A lineshape second moment study found the second moment of protons in oven dry wood to be about 23% lower than the rigid lattice calculation, indicating a rigid structure with some anisotropic ...

Detection of fungal wood decay using Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Holz als Roh- und Werkstoff, 2001L.) infected with the brown rot fungus Coniophora puteana (Schum.) Karst was examined 12 and 26 days after incubation using magnetic resonance imaging. We were able to detect areas containing free water attributed to fungal activity 12 days after incubation. Magnetic resonance imaging was found to be a useful tool for determining early stages of fungal

Wood Science and Technology, 2015
Magnetic wood with high performance was prepared from fast-growing poplar wood via a novel two-step combined treatment. The poplar wood was first magnetized via coprecipitation of ferric and ferrous ions and then polymerized in situ by impregnation with a furfuryl alcohol solution. The resulting products were characterized by Fourier transform infrared

Intraorbital wood. Detection by magnetic resonance imaging.
Ophthalmology, 1990The authors present two cases in which intraorbital wooden foreign bodies remained undetected after initial ophthalmologic examination and radiologic investigation which included plain orbital x-rays, orbital computed tomography (CT) scans, and, in one case, orbital ultrasound.

Experimental results on indoor electromagnetic wave absorber using magnetic wood
Journal of Applied Physics, 2002The purpose of this paper is to propose a new type of indoor electromagnetic wave absorber using magnetic wood. This magnetic wood has good electromagnetic wave absorbing characteristics, a low specific gravity, a wood texture and other wood characteristics and can be easily processed.

Multifunctional wood materials with magnetic, superhydrophobic and anti-ultraviolet properties
Applied Surface Science, 2015Abstract Multifunctional wood materials with magnetic, superhydrophobic and anti-ultraviolet properties were obtained successfully by precipitated CoFe 2 O 4 nanoparticles on the wood surface and then treated with a layer of octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS).

Experimental study on actuation functions of coating-type magnetic wood
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2004Abstract Magnetic wood, which was proposed by the authors in 1991, magnetically attracts in spite of the fact that material itself is essentially wood. In addition to strong magnetic characteristics, this magnetic wood also offers a wood texture, low specific gravity, and it is very easy to process.
