Characteristics of vibration in magnetically levitated trains subjected to crosswind

open access: yesProceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part F: Journal of Rail and Rapid Transit, 2017
An electromagnetic suspension system-type (EMS-type) magnetically levitated vehicle (Maglev) maintains the airgap between the guiderail and the electromagnet by controlling the electric current through the levitation controller and runs with the help of a linear induction motor.

Application of Superconductivity to Transportation: Magnetically Levitated Train

open access: yes, 1989
Taking over from the defunct JNR, the Railway Technical Research Institute continues to be engaged in the maglev development project. Now, the safety, reliability and practicality of the system are being confirmed using an MLU 002 test vehicle on the Miyazaki test track.

Preliminary Study on a PM Magnetic Levitation Train

IECON 2020 The 46th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2020
Recently, several studies have been conducted to improve and optimize the stability of magnetic levitation (maglev) train for their development. This study investigates the advantages and disadvantages of various types of maglev trains and recent research on maglev trains, and proposes a new maglev train’s model, which focuses on low power consumption ...

Reviewing Propulsion & Levitation System for Magnetic Levitation Train

2021 9th International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON), 2021
In this paper, we aim to review and design propulsion, levitation system for magnetic levitation train (Maglev). Since the maglev train use high technologies to design that may become a normally transportation in future. And because in Thailand, there rarely have about maglev study project.

Superferric magnets for fast levitated trains

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1991
A new technology for high-speed magnetically levitated train (MAGLEV) transportation is being developed. The technology is based on self-shielded superferric magnets which provide guidance and levitation at above 50 mph'. A linear motor is used for propulsion.

Magnetic propulsion for magnetically levitated trains

Cryogenics, 1973
Abstract One of the main problems associated with magnetically levitated trains is the means of propulsion. A system is described whereby the repulsion from the superconducting magnets, in addition to levitating the train, can also be used to propel it.
