New Evidence Supporting the Pacific Mantle Outflow: Hints from Crustal Magnetization of the Phoenix Plate

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Magnetic contributions to the Earth’s magnetic field within the lithosphere are known as magnetic anomalies. Magnetic anomaly maps provide insight on magnetic properties of subsurface rock, geological structures, and plate tectonic history.

Characterization of Permanent Magnet Magnetization [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2017
The performances of electrical machines highly depend on the behavior of materials, such as steel, copper, and permanent magnet. This paper focuses on permanent magnets whose magnetization must be precisely known. Thus a non-destructive approach which includes a combination of experiments and inverse problem, using the magnetostatic moment method, is ...

Millimeter-scale flexible robots with programmable three-dimensional magnetization and motions

open access: yesScience Robotics, 2019
New types of flexible microrobots are enabled by patterning discrete 3D magnetization. Flexible magnetic small-scale robots use patterned magnetization to achieve fast transformation into complex three-dimensional (3D) shapes and thereby achieve ...

Peceneaga-Camena Fault: Geomagnetic insights into active tectonic contact

open access: yesГеофизический журнал, 2014
Highly detailed, very accurate ground magnetic investigations were jointly conducted by Romanian and Ukrainian researchers on a segment of the Peceneaga-Camenas Fault (PCF) in order to reveal the potential of geomagnetic method for active faults ...

Effect of Magnetized Freezing Extender on Membrane Damages, Motility, and Fertility of Boar Sperm Following Cryopreservation

open access: yesAnimals, 2023
Magnetized water is defined as the amount of water that has passed through a magnet. The magnetic field weakens the hydrogen bonds between the water molecules, leading to the magnetized liquid acquiring special characteristics such as easy supercooling ...

Anomalous Nernst effect beyond the magnetization scaling relation in the ferromagnetic Heusler compound Co2MnGa [PDF]

open access: yesNPG Asia Materials, 2018
Applying a temperature gradient in a magnetic material generates a voltage that is perpendicular to both the heat flow and the magnetization. This phenomenon is the anomalous Nernst effect (ANE), which was long thought to be proportional to the value of ...

Room temperature magnetization switching in topological insulator-ferromagnet heterostructures by spin-orbit torques [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Topological insulators with spin-momentum-locked topological surface states are expected to exhibit a giant spin-orbit torque in the topological insulator/ferromagnet systems.

Magnetizing of permanent magnets using HTS bulk magnets

open access: yesCryogenics, 2011
A demagnetized Nd-Fe-B permanent magnet was scanned just above the magnetic pole containing the HTS bulk magnet, generating a magnetic field of 3.27 T. The magnet sample was subsequently found to be fully magnetized in the open space of the static magnetic fields.
