Quantum Dynamics of a Nanomagnet driven by Spin-Polarized Current

open access: yes, 2011
A quantum theory of magnetization dynamics of a nanomagnet as a sequence of scatterings of each electron spin with the macrospin state of the magnetization results in each encounter a probability distribution of the magnetization recoil state associated ...

Small-scale magnetic buoyancy and magnetic pumping effects in a turbulent convection [PDF]

open access: yesGeophys.Astrophys.Fluid Dynamics 100 (2006) 243-263, 2006
We determine the nonlinear drift velocities of the mean magnetic field and nonlinear turbulent magnetic diffusion in a turbulent convection. We show that the nonlinear drift velocities are caused by the three kinds of the inhomogeneities, i.e., inhomogeneous turbulence; the nonuniform fluid density and the nonuniform turbulent heat flux.

Magnetizing of permanent magnets using HTS bulk magnets

open access: yesCryogenics, 2011
A demagnetized Nd-Fe-B permanent magnet was scanned just above the magnetic pole containing the HTS bulk magnet, generating a magnetic field of 3.27 T. The magnet sample was subsequently found to be fully magnetized in the open space of the static magnetic fields.

Magnetic field annihilators: invisible magnetization at the magnetic equator [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Journal International, 2003
SUMMARY Some distributions of magnetization give rise to magnetic fields that vanish everywhere above the surface, rendering these distributions of magnetization completely invisible. They are the annihilators of the magnetic inverse problem. Known examples are the infinite sheet with constant magnetization and the spherical shell of constant ...

Very High‐Frequency Oscillations in Mesial Temporal Lobe Epilepsy: Identifying the Epileptogenic Zone

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the reliability of very high‐frequency oscillations (VHFOs, 500–2000 Hz) as biomarkers in identifying the epileptogenic zone (EZ) in mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE) patients. Methods We reviewed 19 MTLE patients who underwent stereo‐electroencephalography‐guided radiofrequency thermocoagulation.

Equivalent Electrical Model of an Inductor Excited by a Triangular Current Including Saturation

open access: yesCommunications, 2020
A model for an equivalent electrical circuit designed for a ferrite (3C90) inductor usually used in power converters excited by a non-sinusoidal current appropriate for use in power electronics is proposed. This study, based on 3D finite element analysis,

Hysteresis in mesoscopic superconducting disks: the Bean-Livingston barrier

open access: yes, 1998
The magnetization behavior of mesoscopic superconducting disks can show hysteretic behavior which we explain by using the Ginzburg-Landau (GL) theory and properly taking into account the de-magnetization effects due to geometrical form factors.

Magnetic interactions in IV-VI diluted magnetic semiconductors [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Status Solidi B, 259, 2100592 (2022), 2023
Diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) are interesting because of the interplay between the electronic and magnetic subsystems. We describe selected magnetic properties of IV-VI diluted magnetic semiconductors, looking at the similarities and differences between magnetic properties of II-VI, IV-VI, and III-V DMS.

Photospheric magnetic structure of coronal holes [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy and Astrophysics 629, A22 (2019), 2019
In this study, we investigate in detail the photospheric magnetic structure of 98 coronal holes using line-of-sight magnetograms of SDO/HMI, and for a subset of 42 coronal holes using HINODE/SOT G-band filtergrams. We divided the magnetic field maps into magnetic elements and quiet coronal hole regions by applying a threshold at $\pm 25$ G.
