Nonlinear magneto-acoustics of tetragonal antiferromagnets [PDF]
The results of theoretical study of the influence of mechanical stress, electric and magnetic fields on the conditions for magneto-elastic solitons existence and their dynamic properties in the symmetric phase of a tetragonal antiferromagnet are presented. The conditions for the occurrence of nonlinear magneto-elastic resonance of long and short waves (

In 2013 we proposed the magneto-thermo-acoustic effect [Piao et al, Med. Phys. 2013], which refers to acoustic emission from magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) when thermally mediated under an alternating magnetic field (AMF) applied in a pulsed or frequency ...

On the generation and radiation of magneto-acoustic waves
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1977The generation, and thence the dissipation, propagation and radiation, of waves in a compressible fluid subjected to a magnetic field is studied as an extension of the ‘acoustic analogy’ (Lighthill 1952) to magneto-acoustics. A formal theory of magneto-acoustic waves introduces (i) a single differential operator describing propagation, (ii) a dynamic ...

Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) Acoustics Promoted Antenna for Submarine Applications
IEEE Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation, 2022An extremely low frequency (ELF) bulk acoustic-wave (BAW)-mediated multiferroic-antenna is presented, and its extremely low operating frequency allows it to be used for submarines, while its size is reduced by 3–4 orders of magnitude compared to general ...

We demonstrate a hybrid oscillator system that combines the tunability of spin torque oscillators (STOs) with the exceptional quality factor (Q) of a high-overtone bulk acoustic resonator (HBAR) in a 2-chip system. The demonstrated magneto-acoustic oscillator (MAO) has a tuning range of 5% at 4 GHz with 175 kHz 3 dB linewidth.

Pulsed magneto-acoustic imaging
2009 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2009Nanoparticles are attracting considerable interest as contrast agents for many different imaging modalities. Moreover, imaging the events at the cellular and molecular level is possible by using nanoparticles that have the desired targeting moiety.
