Magneto–Acoustic Hybrid Nanomotor
Nano Letters, 2015Efficient and controlled nanoscale propulsion in harsh environments requires careful design and manufacturing of nanomachines, which can harvest and translate the propelling forces with high spatial and time resolution. Here we report a new class of artificial nanomachine, named magneto-acoustic hybrid nanomotor, which displays efficient propulsion in ...

2017 19th International Conference on Solid-State Sensors, Actuators and Microsystems (TRANSDUCERS), 2017
We demonstrate a hybrid oscillator system that combines the tunability of spin torque oscillators (STOs) with the exceptional quality factor (Q) of a high-overtone bulk acoustic resonator (HBAR) in a 2-chip system. The demonstrated magneto-acoustic oscillator (MAO) has a tuning range of 5% at 4 GHz with 175 kHz 3 dB linewidth.

Combined photoacoustic and magneto-acoustic imaging
2009 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2009Ultrasound is a widely used modality with excellent spatial resolution, low cost, portability, reliability and safety. In clinical practice and in the biomedical field, molecular ultrasound-based imaging techniques are desired to visualize tissue pathologies, such as cancer.

Magneto-acoustic attenuation in AuSb2
Solid State Communications, 1974Abstract Quantum oscillations in the ultrasonic attenuation in AuSb2 were studied as a function of temperature, magnetic field and crystal orientation. The effective masses of the carriers associated with the F5 and F6 oscillations were measured in a (110) plane.

Magneto-Acoustic Interaction in Mercury
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1969The magnetically induced acoustic absorption coefficient in liquid mercury has been measured around its inverse relaxation frequency using an on-line computer and magnetic fields of up to 10 kg. The hybrid computer-operated differential measuring system took between 2560 and 25 600 experiments per run.

The magneto-acoustic emission (invited)
Journal of Applied Physics, 1993When cycling a hysteresis loop, bursts of high frequency ultrasonic waves are emitted. This general phenomenon, which must not be confused with the classical magnetostrictive effect at twice the cycling frequency, is called the magnetoacoustic emission (MAE). By using literature and authors’ results, qualitative and quantitative, the authors review the

Nonlinear magneto-acoustic dispersive waves
Astrophysics and Space Science, 1977The multiple time scale method is applied to investigate the nonlinear magneto-acoustic dispersive waves in a collisional plasma. Whereas in the absence of collisions these waves are modulationally stable, the collisions render them modulationally unstable.

Ultrafast magneto-acoustics in metallic nanoparticles

Theoretical study of electro-thermo-acoustic instability in a magneto-plasma-dynamic thruster
International journal of thermal sciences, 2018The electro-thermo-acoustic instability has been hypothesized as a driver behind the near-anode plasma flow instability in the magneto-plasma-dynamic thrusters.
