Iron‐based metallic glass alloys exhibit excellent soft‐magnetic properties, and unprecedented geometrical freedom in the design of soft‐magnetic metallic glass components is made possible by additive manufacturing. An efficient workflow for developing parameters for laser‐based powder bed fusion of a Fe‐based metallic glass alloy is presented along ...

We calculate the influence of diffusive and ballistic transport on ultrafast magnetization in thick metallic films. When only diffusive transport is present, gradients of magnetization in the material remain up to picosecond timescales. In contrast, when

Nonlinear Magneto-Optical Response of $s$- and $d$-Wave Superconductors
The nonlinear magneto-optical response of $s$- and $d$-wave superconductors is discussed. We carry out the symmetry analysis of the nonlinear magneto-optical susceptibility in the superconducting state.

We describe a geometry for a Sagnac interferometer with a zero-area Sagnac loop for measuring magneto-optic Kerr effect (MOKE) at cryogenic temperatures. The apparatus is capable of measuring absolute polar Kerr rotation at 1550 nm wavelength without any

Observation of Relativistic Domain Wall Motion in Amorphous Ferrimagnets
Domain walls in ferrimagnets and antiferromagnets move as relativistic sine‐Gordon solitons, with the spin‐wave velocity setting their speed limit. Such relativistic domain‐wall motion is demonstrated in amorphous GdFeCo near angular momentum compensation, where current‐driven walls reach 90% of the 2 kms−1 spin‐wave speed, enabling ultrafast, device ...

Theory for Spin-Polarized Oscillations in Nonlinear Magneto-Optics due to Quantum Well States
Using an electronic tight-binding theory we calculate the nonlinear magneto-optical response from an x-Cu/1Fe/Cu(001) film as a function of frequency and Cu overlayer thickness (x=3 ... 25). We find very strong spin-polarized quantum well oscillations in

Proximity Induced Magnetic Anisotropy and Trefoil Fermiology in Monolayer FeCl2/Bi(111)
Reorientation of magnetic anisotropy in a 2D van der Waals magnet is demonstrated in monolayer FeCl2 epitaxially grown on a bismuth substrate, from its natural out‐of‐plane direction to a predominantly in‐plane orientation. The FeCl2/bismuth heterostructure exhibits moiré‐induced interface states, suggesting strong coupling at the interface.
