Optical and magneto-optical properties of PrSb

Physical Review B, 1994
We present the results of a theoretical study for the interpretation of the optical and magneto-optical spectra of PrSb. In particular, we address the question of the assignment of the unexpectedly low optical and magneto-optical signals to the ${\mathit{f}}^{2}$\ensuremath{\rightarrow}${\mathit{f}}^{1}$d transition.

Magneto-optical properties of epitaxial Mn Ge1− films

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2003
Abstract The magneto-optical Kerr effect is used to study epitaxial Mn x Ge 1− x /Ge (1 0 0) films grown at different substrate temperatures and Mn concentrations. The samples are magnetic at low temperature (5 K) and lose this property as the measuring temperature is raised. Negligible hysteresis is observed for the as-deposited samples.

Magneto-Optical Properties of CuInS2 Nanocrystals

The Journal of Physical Chemistry Letters, 2014
We compare the absorption, photoluminescence, and magneto-optical properties of colloidal CuInS2 (CIS) nanocrystals with two closely related and well-understood binary analogs: Cu-doped ZnSe nanocrystals and CdSe nanocrystals. In contrast with conventional CdSe, both CIS and Cu-doped ZnSe nanocrystals exhibit a substantial energy separation between ...

Magneto-optical properties of magnetic nanocomposites

The Physics of Metals and Metallography, 2006
The magnetotransport, optical, and magneto-optical (MO) properties of (CoFeZr) X (Al 2 O 3 ) 100 - X nanocomposites in the as-deposited state and after annealing have been studied. It is shown that the MO response of the nanocomposites increases in the vicinity of the percolation threshold.

Magneto-optical properties of sesquioxide ceramics

2020 International Conference Laser Optics (ICLO), 2020
The report presents studying results of optical and magneto-optical properties of transparent sesquioxide ceramics REE 2 O 3 (REE=Tb, Dy, Ho, Er). Dependences of the Verdet constant on wavelength and temperature are measured and analytical approximations are founded.

Magneto-Optical Properties

2009
In the previous chapters, the emphasis is placed on the electronic origins of local and collective molecular magnetism in transition-metal oxides and their behavior in alternating magnetic fields. Models of magnetic resonance based on precessing magnetic moments provide a classical analog to quantum mechanical transitions provided that the internal ...

Optical and magneto-optical properties of gadolinium

Journal of Applied Physics, 2007
We report calculations of the optical and magneto-optical properties of elemental rare earth gadolinium using the full potential linear augmented plane wave method and including spin-orbit coupling. Calculations are performed within the local spin density approximation (LSDA) and Coulomb corrected local spin density approximation (LSDA+U). While LSDA+U

Magneto-Optical Properties of Eus Film

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1975
Optical properties are studied for EuS films fabricated by different conditions. Films formed on a cleavage surface of NaCl are found to be of an epitaxial ordering and have sufficiently good optical quality so that are suitable for detailed magneto-optical study.

Magneto-optical properties of nanostructured iron

Journal of Materials Chemistry, 1997
Particles of α-iron of 2–10 nm size have been prepared by chemical synthesis, stabilized and dispersed into a polymer matrix. The composite was characterized using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The optical Faraday rotation of the polymer composite, measured at 633 nm, was approximately 1.2° T -1 .

Magneto-optic properties of particulate layers

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1975
Restriction of electron mean free path in small metallic particles leads to a modification of the bulk optical and magneto-optic constants. The effect of this restriction and particle shape on the effective macroscopic values of \bar{n} and \bar{Q} for a particulate layer are considered.
