Magneto-optical spaser [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2013
We present an electrodynamical model of a novel quantum plasmonic device - magneto-optical spaser. It is shown that a spherical gain nanoparticle coated with a metallic magneto-optical shell can operate as a spaser amplifying circularly polarized surface plasmons.

Magneto-optical trapping using planar optics

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
Laser-cooled atoms are a key technology for many calibration-free measurement platforms—including clocks, gyroscopes, and gravimeters—and are a promising system for quantum networking and quantum computing.

Magneto-optical cooling of atoms [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2014
We propose an alternative method to laser cooling. Our approach utilizes the extreme brightness of a supersonic atomic beam, and the adiabatic atomic coilgun to slow atoms in the beam or to bring them to rest. We show how internal-state optical pumping and stimulated optical transitions, combined with magnetic forces can be used to cool the ...

Observation of magneto-electric rectification at non-relativistic intensities

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
The role of the optical magnetic field is generally not considered at nonrelativistic light intensities. Here the authors show magneto-electric rectification, an optical nonlinear effect due to electric and magnetic field coupling, in a thin film of the ...

Magneto-optical properties of nanocomposites (Co41Fe39B20)х(SiO2)100-х

open access: yesSemiconductor Physics, Quantum Electronics & Optoelectronics, 2020
Magneto-optics properties of (Co41Fe39B20)x(SiO2)100−x alloys were studied applying both experimental spectral ellipsometry and quantum mechanical theory (incl. molecular calculus) approaches.

Magneto-optical Kerr effect in surface engineered 2D hexagonal boron nitride

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
Magnetism in atomically thin functional materials can be an important phenomenon for exploring two-dimensional magneto-optics. Magneto-optical experimental data have revealed significant Kerr signals in insulator thin films.

Magneto-optical spectrum analyzer [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2014
We present a method for the investigation of gigahertz magnetization dynamics of single magnetic nano elements. By combining a frequency domain approach with a micro focus Kerr effect detection, a high sensitivity to magnetization dynamics with submicron spatial resolution is achieved. It allows spectra of single nanostructures to be recorded.

Magneto-Optics of Excitons Interacting with Magnetic Ions in CdSe/CdMnS Colloidal Nanoplatelets. [PDF]

open access: yesACS Nano, 2020
Excitons in diluted magnetic semiconductors represent excellent probes for studying the magnetic properties of these materials. Various magneto-optical effects, which depend sensitively on the exchange interaction of the excitons with the localized spins

Magneto-optics of the 2D iron-garnet nanocylinder array with localized and lattice modes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
We experimentally show the enhancement of the Faraday and transverse magneto-optical Kerr effects in the two-dimensional arrays of nanocylinders made of bismuth-substituted iron-garnet and supporting both localized and lattice modes.
