The Evaluation of Absorption Performance of Magneto-Rheological (MR) Elastomer

Advanced Materials Research, 2015
This study examines the relation between the thickness of a specimen and the weight of an impactor for evaluating the shock absorption performance of magneto-rheological (MR) elastomers with and without a magnetic field. The shock absorption performance can be evaluated by calculating impact energy.

Two-dimensional magnetic property measurement for magneto-rheological elastomer

Journal of Applied Physics, 2013
Magneto-rheological elastomer (MRE) is a new kind of smart material. Its rheological properties can be altered and controlled in a real time manner when it is applied an external magnetic field. For calculating magnetic properties of MRE material, usually Maxwell-Garnet equation is used to acquire an approximately effective permeability.

Micromechanical analysis on tensile modulus of structured magneto-rheological elastomer

Smart Materials and Structures, 2016
This paper proposed a micromechanical model to investigate the tensile modulus of structured magnetorheological elastomers (MRE) to understand its anisotropic properties. A three parameter representative volume element (RVE) model was presented to describe the microscopic structure, where particles could be organized in layer-like or chain-like ...

Magneto-rheological response of elastomer composites with hybrid-magnetic fillers

Smart Materials and Structures, 2014
We study the magneto-rheological response of hybrid-magnetic elastomer composites consisting of two different magnetic filler particles at fixed overall concentration. Thereby, we focus on an optimization of mechanical and magnetic properties by combining highly reinforcing magnetic nano-particles (MagSilica) with micro-sized carbonyl-iron particles ...

Development of a Capacitor Using a Rubber Based Magneto Rheological Elastomer

2019
A capacitor is a passive two-terminal electrical component that stores electrical energy in an electric field. The most famous capacitor current in use the market and industry is a ceramic capacitor. However, the dielectric material used in the industry nowadays involve high cost of material handling due to the fact that the dielectric material is ...
