Magnetic Characteristic and Elastic Modulus of Magneto-Rheological Elastomers

open access: yesNihon Reoroji Gakkaishi, 2009
In the present study various magneto-rheological elastomers, which are mixtures with ferromagnetic particles and silicone gel, are introduced in order to develop a new type of magnetic viscoelastic material. Such materials, in view of industrial application, require substantial change of mechanical properties to create a large deformation due to ...

Encoding Magnetic Anisotropies in Digital Light Processing 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 26, 30 March 2026.
A hybrid magnetic device—combining a coaxial coil within a nested Halbach array—is presented, integrated into a DLP 3D printer to enable spatially resolved magnetic field control. This system enables complex, multimodal responses by programming liquid crystal elastomer resins for magnetic and thermal actuation, and by inducing electrically conductive ...

Recyclable and Binder‐Free EGaIn–Carbon Liquid Metal Composite: A Sustainable Approach for High‐Performance Stretchable Electronics, Thermal‐Interfacing and EMI‐Shielding

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 6, 18 March 2026.
Binder‐free EGaIn–CB composite deliver printable, recyclable liquid‐metal conductors without sintering or polymer binders. Only 1.5 wt% CB yields shear‐thinning, high‐viscosity rheology, ∼60% bulk EGaIn conductivity, robust stretchability, high thermal conductivity, and strong EMI shielding (35 → 70 dB at 100% strain).

Magnetorheological elastomers with particle chain orientation:Modelling and experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This work describes a new model of the magneto-induced shear storage modulus to simulate the shear behavior of magnetorheological elastomers (MRE) with particle chain orientation. The directionality of the chains is here described by using as a parameter

Functional Materials for 3D‐Printed Soft Robotics: Conductors, Actuators, and Sensing Networks: A Review

open access: yesJournal of Robotics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
3D printing is transforming soft robotics by enabling complex geometries, rapid iteration, and cofabrication of structure, actuation, and sensing. Central to this progress are functional materials that provide stretchable conductivity, stimuli‐responsive actuation, and reliable sensing when deposited by additive processes.
