Magneto-Mechanical Coupling in Magneto-Active Elastomers [PDF]
In the present work, the magneto-mechanical coupling in magneto-active elastomers is investigated from two different modeling perspectives: a micro-continuum and a particle–interaction approach. Since both strategies differ significantly in their basic assumptions and the resolution of the problem under investigation, they are introduced in a concise ...

The 2022 magneto-optics roadmap [PDF]
Abstract Magneto-optical (MO) effects, viz. magnetically induced changes in light intensity or polarization upon reflection from or transmission through a magnetic sample, were discovered over a century and a half ago. Initially they played a crucially relevant role in unveiling the fundamentals of electromagnetism and quantum mechanics.

We present an electrodynamical model of a novel quantum plasmonic device - magneto-optical spaser. It is shown that a spherical gain nanoparticle coated with a metallic magneto-optical shell can operate as a spaser amplifying circularly polarized surface plasmons.

Magneto-dielectric and Magneto-resistive in the mixed spinel – MgFe2O4 [PDF]
The mixed spinel, MgFe2O4 has been synthesized by ball-milling assisted sintering method. X-ray diffraction study confirms formation of cubic MgFe2O4 and the lattice parameter values calculated are a = b = c = 8.369(3) . Vibrating sample magnetometer measurements at room temperature shows a soft ferrimagnetic nature.

Sensor Applications of Soft Magnetic Materials Based on Magneto-Impedance, Magneto-Elastic Resonance and Magneto-Electricity [PDF]
The outstanding properties of selected soft magnetic materials make them successful candidates for building high performance sensors. In this paper we present our recent work regarding different sensing technologies based on the coupling of the magnetic properties of soft magnetic materials with their electric or elastic properties.

On the connection between the magneto-elliptic and magneto-rotational instabilities [PDF]
AbstractIt has recently been suggested that the magneto-rotational instability (MRI) is a limiting case of the magneto-elliptic instability (MEI). This limit is obtained for horizontal modes in the presence of rotation and an external vertical magnetic field, when the aspect ratio of the elliptic streamlines tends to infinite.

Convection is the transport of energy by bulk mass motions. Magnetic fields alter convection via the Lorentz force, while convection moves the fields via the curl( v × B ) term in the induction equation.
