Who discovered the magnetocaloric effect?
The European Physical Journal H, 2013A magnetic body changes its thermal state when subjected to a changing magnetic field. In particular, if done under adiabatic conditions, its temperature changes. For the past 15 years the magnetocaloric effect has been the focus of significant research due to its possible application for efficient refrigeration near room temperature. At the same time,

Magnetocaloric effect in HoMnO3 crystal
Applied Physics Letters, 2010We have investigated the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of HoMnO3 single crystal. HoMnO3 displays a series of complicated phase transitions due to the long range ordering of Mn3+ and Ho3+ moments. Field variation in magnetization generates a metamagnetic transition and produces an entropy change of 13.1 J/kg K at 7 T in the vicinity of ...

Magnetocaloric effect in hexagonal Yb0.9Mg0.1MnO3
Materials Letters, 2015Abstract Polycrystalline hexagonal Yb0.9Mg0.1MnO3 is examined for its magnetic, and magnetocaloric properties. Antiferromagnetic ordering of the Mn sublattice occurs at TN=88 K. At low temperature (~3.5 K), the compound shows ferromagnetic (FM) ordering attributed to Yb in site 2a.

Great Magnetocaloric Effect of La0.27Nd0.4Ca0.33MnO3
Journal of Superconductivity and Novel Magnetism, 2015A magnetocaloric effect has been investigated in the La0.27Nd0.4Ca0.33MnO3. The results show that the maximum magnetic entropy change of La0.27Nd0.4Ca0.33MnO3 in the magnetic field change of 5.0 T is 10.05 J. kg−1. K−1 at 135 K, which is nearly equal Gd in the same magnetic field change.
