Concurrent Terahertz Spin Excitations and Phase Shift Control in Fe4Nb2O9: A Material for Synergizing Computation and Communication Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional terahertz (THz) platform is demonstrated, in a model material Fe4Nb2O9, exhibiting a large intrinsic THz phase shift alongside distinct THz magnon excitations in its antiferromagnetic phase. This coexistence of phase modulation and spin dynamics offers a promising pathway toward integrated THz communication and magnonic computation ...

Low‐Voltage Controlled Coercivity in Nanocrystalline Fe‐Ni Films by Magneto‐Ionic Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials
Magneto‐ionic control of metal oxide/metal films provides a pathway to voltage‐tunable magnetoelectronic devices with high energy efficiency. So far, magneto‐ionic research mainly focuses on Co‐based films, while Fe‐Ni alloy films, despite their high ...

A Millimeter‐Scale Implantable Magneto–Mechano–Electric Transducer Based on BTO Piezoelectric Ceramics for Remote Wireless Electrical Stimulation of Injured Sciatic Nerves

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report a fully wireless, circuit‐free neural stimulator built on a millimetric magneto‐mechano‐electric (MME) cantilever transducer (3 × 10 × 5 mm) with a barium titanate (BTO) piezoelectric ceramic core. Under low‐frequency alternating magnetic fields, the MME cantilever mechanically oscillates, inducing stress on the BTO element and thereby ...

Magnetoelectric Ponderomotive Force [PDF]

open access: yes
The dynamics of a system consisting of a matter continuum with a weak linear magnetoelectric coupling interacting with electromagnetic fields is examined on a local scale in a non-relativistic limit. A consistent expression for the internal energy of the

Magnetoelectric coupling in MnTiO3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We give general arguments that show that the linear magnetoelectric effect in antiferromagnetic materials gives rise to a magnetocapacitance anomaly—a divergence of the dielectric constant at the magnetic ordering temperature TN that appears in an ...

Non-Resonant Magnetoelectric Energy Harvesting Utilizing Phase Transformation in Relaxor Ferroelectric Single Crystals

open access: yesActuators, 2015
Recent advances in phase transition transduction enabled the design of a non-resonant broadband mechanical energy harvester that is capable of delivering an energy density per cycle up to two orders of magnitude larger than resonant cantilever ...

Large Temperature‐invariant Anomalous Nernst Effect in Non‐collinear Antiferromagnet Mn3Pt

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on the noncollinear antiferromagnetic Mn3Pt thin films, the composition‐tunable Mn‐3d orbital states directly govern the Berry curvature. As a result, a giant and temperature‐invariant anomalous Nernst coefficient of 0.71 µV/K is achieved under Mn‐rich conditions.

RESOLUTION INVESTIGATION FOR THE LONGITUDINAL-TRANSVERSE MODE MAGNETOELECTRIC LAMINATE COMPOSITES

open access: yes, 2013
Signal resolution reflects the lowest detectable signal of a sensor; and it is more important in practical sensor applications. In this paper, we will investigate the signal resolution of the longitudinal-transverse (L-T) mode magnetoelectric (ME ...

Operation Regimes and Design Principles of Delta‐E Effect Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research
Delta‐E effect‐based magnetoelectric sensors have emerged as promising technology for detecting weak magnetic fields at low frequencies. However, the performance of such sensors remains difficult to predict, as signal and noise characteristics are ...

Multiferroic‐Centric Materials and Systems Engineering for Battery Applications: An Insight Into Mechanisms, Strategies, and Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses
