Magnetoelectric coupling in Ca3CoMnO6

Journal of Applied Physics, 2010
Magnetic structure and dielectric response of Ca3CoMnO6 have been studied as a function of temperature and applied magnetic field. Neutron diffraction experiments at low temperatures reveal changes in the magnetic structure in the temperature range 2–10 K.

Magnetoelectric coupling in 4,4′-stilbenedinitrene

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2013
We investigated the optical properties of 4,4′-stilbenedinitrene at low temperature and in high magnetic fields and compared the results with complementary first principles calculations. Both physical tuning parameters allow us to manipulate the singlet-triplet equilibrium, and by doing so, control the optical contrast (which is on the order of −2.5 ...

Magnetoelectric Coupling in Disordered Multiferroics

Ferroelectrics, 2012
Higher order magnetoelectric effects dominate in disordered multiferroics with broken translational symmetry such as multiglassy Sr0.98Mn0.02TiO3, antiferromagnetic quantum paraelectric EuTiO3, relaxor ferroelectric antiferromagnetic Pb(Fe0.5Nb0.5)O3, and antiferroelectric antiferromagnetic CuCr1-xInxP2S6.

Effect of magnetic bias field on magnetoelectric coupling in magnetoelectric composites

Journal of Applied Physics, 2003
The effect of dc magnetic bias field on the magnetoelectric coupling of a two-component magnetoelectric composite structure is investigated numerically using the finite-element method, in which the nonlinear magnetostress coupling for the magnetostrictive component is taken into account. It is shown that the magnetostress coupling coefficient increases

A nonlinear magnetoelectric model for magnetoelectric layered composite with coupling stress

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2014
Abstract Based on a linear piezoelectric relation and a nonlinear magnetostrictive constitutive relation, A nonlinear magnetoelectric (ME) effect model for flexural layered ME composites is established in in-plane magnetic field. In the proposed model, the true coupling stress and the equivalent piezomagnetic coefficient are taken into account and ...

On magnetoelectric coupling at equilibrium in continua with microstructure

Zeitschrift für angewandte Mathematik und Physik, 2017
A theory of micromorphic continua, applied to electromagnetic solids, is exploited to study magnetoelectric effects at equilibrium. Microcurrents are modeled by the microgyration tensor of stationary micromotions, compatibly with the balance equations for null microdeformation. The equilibrium of the continuum subject to electric and magnetic fields is

New relativistic Hamiltonian: the angular magnetoelectric coupling

SPIE Proceedings, 2016
Spin-Orbit Coupling (SOC) is a ubiquitous phenomenon in the spintronics area, as it plays a major role in allowing for enhancing many well-known phenomena, such as the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, magnetocrystalline anisotropy, the Rashba effect, etc.
