Effect of magnetic bias field on magnetoelectric coupling in magnetoelectric composites

Journal of Applied Physics, 2003
The effect of dc magnetic bias field on the magnetoelectric coupling of a two-component magnetoelectric composite structure is investigated numerically using the finite-element method, in which the nonlinear magnetostress coupling for the magnetostrictive component is taken into account. It is shown that the magnetostress coupling coefficient increases

Statistical Theory of Magnetoelectric Effects in Antiferromagnetics

Physical Review, 1962
It is shown on the basis of a statistical mechanical calculation involving the molecular field approximation and the free energy that the spin-orbit mechanism previously proposed by the author leads not only to the electrically induced but also to the magnetically induced magnetoelectric effect.

Investigation of the Dynamic Magnetoelectric Effect Model for Magnetoelectric Transducers

To address the limitation of neglecting loss mechanisms in studies of the dynamic magnetoelectric response of magnetoelectric transducers, a dynamic magnetoelectric analysis model is developed. Based on the theoretical model of quasi-static magnetoelectric transducers, the equivalent circuit under resonant conditions and the corresponding dynamic ...

Magnetoelectric Effects in Insulating Magnetic Materials

2009
The magnetoelectric (ME) effects go back to the conjecture of Pierre Curie in 1894 that materials might exist that can be polarized electrically by means of a magnetic field and magnetized by means of an electric field. The different kinds of such ME effect known today can be classified on a thermodynamic and symmetry basis.
