Finite Element Modeling of Magnetoelectric Sensors
The magnetoelectric effect, stemming from piezoelectric and magnetostrictive materials composite, is studied. A model based on the association of magnetoelastic and piezo-electric constitutive laws is presented. This model is implemented in a finite element formulation and a comparison with analytical solutions for piezoelectric/magnetostrictive ...

Influence of Mechanical Boundary Conditions on Magnetoelectric Sensors
Magnetic field sensors are an important application for magnetoelectric composite materials. In these devices the external magnetic field is converted into an electric voltage. The sensitivity of the sensor is known to depend on different factors, including geometrical and material parameters.

An angle sensor based on magnetoelectric effect
Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2017Abstract Based on magnetoelectric effect, an angle sensor consisting of a magnetostrictive/piezoelectric laminate composite (MPLC), a multi-polar magnetic ring (MPMR), a modulation coil, and a shaft is presented. The MPLC and the modulation coil winded around it are the immobile parts of the angle sensor.

Current sensor based on magnetoelectric effect
2014 18th International Symposium on Electrical Apparatus and Technologies (SIELA), 2014This paper presents the construction and operating principle of current sensors based on low frequency magnetoelectric effect. Sensors presented here were designed for detecting the direct currents from 0 to 1 A and to 5 A. The sensitivity of the 1 A magnetoelectric current sensors is more than 3 V/A. Sensor's current consumption is about 2.6 mA.

3D finite element model for magnetoelectric sensors
This paper presents a 3D numerical model of magnetoelectric sensors based on the finite element method. It is obtained using the association of magnetoelastic and piezoelectric behaviour laws. The 3D finite element formulation is evaluated on a bi-layer beam, combining magnetostrictive and piezoelectric materials, submitted to magnetic fields.
