Local support against gravity in magneto-turbulent fluids
Comparisons of the integrated thermal pressure support of gas against its gravitational potential energy lead to critical mass scales for gravitational instability such as the Jeans and the Bonnor-Ebert masses, which play an important role in analysis of

A test suite for magnetohydrodynamical simulations
A collection is presented of MHD problems that will provide researchers who have interests in modeling MHD phenomena with a battery of tests (a 'test suite') for calibrating their numerical algorithms. Use of these tests will provide a common reference for comparison of different numerical MHD algorithms. The test suite includes both 1D and 2D problems.

Reconstructing Magnetotail Reconnection Events Using Data Mining is Feasible and Repeatable
Abstract Recently, Stephens et al. (2023), https://doi.org/10.1029/2022ja031066 utilized a data mining (DM) algorithm, applied to 26 years of magnetospheric magnetometer observations coupled with a flexible formulation of the magnetospheric magnetic field, to reconstruct the global configuration of the magnetotail when the Magnetospheric MultiScale ...

Low Frequency Oscillation Observed in the Ionosphere Around the Substorm Onsets
Abstract Three substorm events in which Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) spacecraft are geomagnetically co‐located with substorm onset locations in IMAGE far ultraviolet auroral images are analyzed. A Hilbert‐Huang Transform is used to decompose the DMSP B⊥ ${B}_{\perp }$ in the ionosphere to its intrinsic mode functions. A dominant mode

Magnetohydrodynamic Simulation of Solar Supergranulation
Three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamical large eddy simulations of solar surface convection using realistic model physics is conducted. The effects of magnetic fields on thermal structure of convective motions into radiative layers, the range of convection cell sizes and penetration depths of convection is investigated. We simulate a some portion of the

Simulations of Relativistic Force‐free Magnetohydrodynamic Turbulence
We present numerical studies of 3-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) turbulence in a strongly magnetized medium in the extremely relativistic limit, in which the inertia of the charge carriers can be neglected. We have focused on strong Alfvenic turbulence in the limit. We have found the following results.
