Simple Electroosmotic Pump and Active Microfluidics with Asymmetrically Coated Microelectrodes

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 3, Issue 9, September 2023., 2023
A surprisingly simple electroosmotic micropump is developed by glancing‐angle deposition of gold on 3D microstructures and pairing with a planar counter electrode. The micropump operates with low‐frequency low‐voltage AC power and can be easily integrated to generate complex flow fields, including microvortex and active microfluidics circuits ...

Electric Field Assisted Direct Writing and 3D Printing of Low‐Melting Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 24, Issue 9, September 2022., 2022
Three‐dimensional (3D) features such as overhangs, bridges, and various 3D infill patterns are fabricated by electric field‐assisted direct writing technology. A case study of a single marker application demonstrated how the printed 3D parts function as X‐ray body markers identifying six degrees of freedom.

Nonlinear Convective SiO2 and TiO2 Hybrid Nanofluid Flow over an Inclined Stretched Surface

open access: yesJournal of Nanomaterials, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
The hybrid nanofluid is extensively used in manufacturing commercial applications due to its high exceptional capacity to increase the heat transfer rate. As a result, in the existence of nonlinear convection, the hybrid nanofluid is considered to flow on an inclined plane.

Numerical study of ferro‐droplet breakup initiation induced by a slowly rotating uniform magnetic field

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 3, Issue 4, April 2021., 2021
A critical viscosity is suggested for the breakup of a ferrofluid droplet due to the ignition of a slowly rotating magnetic field, below which elongation and breakup occur, and above which a simple solid body rotation ensues. Abstract The fully three‐dimensional start‐up deformations and accelerations of initially spherical magnetically susceptable ...

Insight into the Significance of Hall Current and Joule Heating on the Dynamics of Darcy–Forchheimer Peristaltic Flow of Rabinowitsch Fluid

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2021, Issue 1, 2021., 2021
This paper aims to present the significance of the Hall current and Joule heating impacts on a peristaltic flow of a Rabinowitsch fluid through tapered tube. The Darcy–Forchheimer scheme is used for a porous medium; a mild stenosis is considered to study the impacts of radiative heat transfer and chemical reactions. Convective conditions are postulated

Electrohydrodynamic and Magnetohydrodynamic Surface Waves and Instabilities [PDF]

open access: yesThe Physics of Fluids, 1961
Low-frequency dynamics of a plane fluid interface stressed by tangential or perpendicular electric or magnetic fields is studied emphasizing the duality of the magnetic and electric cases. Both configurations are shown to be controlled by an effective Alfvén velocity for the magnetic cases, and by an electrohydrodynamic dual to this velocity for the ...
