Flexible magnetoimpedance sensor

open access: yesJournal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2015
Abstract Flexible magnetoimpedance (MI) sensors fabricated using a NiFe/Cu/NiFe tri-layer on Kapton substrate have been studied. A customized flexible microstrip transmission line was employed to investigate the MI sensors's magnetic field and frequency responses and their dependence on the sensors's deflection.

Magnetoimpedance of FeNi Thin Film Meanders

open access: yesSolid State Phenomena, 2012
The role of the geometrical parameters was studied for thin film based [FeNi (100 nm)/Cu (3 nm)]4/FeNi (100 nm)/Cu (500 nm)/[FeNi (100 nm)/Cu (3 nm)]4/FeNi (100 nm) magnetoimpedance elements with open magnetic flux prepared by lithography technique. The maximum magnetoimpedance sensitivity of 17 %/Oe was obtained for meander shaped sample, exceeding ...

Dipolar-biased giant magnetoimpedance

open access: yesJournal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2005
Abstract The effect of the dipolar field on the magnetoimpedance in Fe- and Co-based wires is presented. In the experiments a Co-based wire was used as a probe to measure the giant magnetoimpedance (GMI), while a Fe-based wire was employed to generate the dipolar field.

Non-linear giant magnetoimpedance

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2002
Abstract Very high and sensitive magnetoimpedance effect has been studied in FeCoNi magnetic tubes electroplated onto CuBe wire for the frequency of 1 MHz order. Strong non-linear effects have been observed. The high harmonics generation was investigated.

Physical models of magnetoimpedance

Journal of Applied Physics, 2007
We recall the methods for the rigorous calculation of the electromagnetic behavior of magnetic metallic samples and their application to the modeling of ferromagnetic resonance and of giant magnetoimpedance experiments. We explain the effect of various approximations and simplifications, particularly of the neglect of the exchange-conductivity effect ...

Nanostructured Magnetoimpedance Multilayers

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2012
We describe our experience in design, fabrication and advanced characterization of highly sensitive [FeNi/Ti]- and [FeNi/Cu]n/Cu-based magnetoimpedance multilayers deposited by rf-sputtering onto rigid and flexible substrates. In order to avoid the transition into "transcritical" state and to keep both the low coercivity and magnetic softness for ...
