Estimating the Net Magnetic Moment of Geological Samples From Planar Field Maps Using Multipoles

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 24, Issue 7, July 2023., 2023
Abstract Recent advances in magnetic microscopy have enabled studies of geological samples whose weak and spatially nonuniform magnetizations were previously inaccessible to standard magnetometry techniques. A quantity of central importance is the net magnetic moment, which reflects the mean direction and the intensity of the magnetization states of ...

Magnetic Functionalization of Poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) Hydrogels for Sensor Applications

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), Volume 259, Issue 8, August 2022., 2022
Herein, methods of introducing large quantities of magnetic nanoparticles into Laponite‐based PNIPAM hydrogels are investigated. Particles are coated with 3‐(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate and integrated using a magnetic field during the hydrogel synthesis to create large rod‐like agglomerations.

Basic study to verify possibility for detection of human cardiopulmonary activity in sediment using current‐induced magnetic modulation spectroscopy

open access: yesElectronics and Communications in Japan, Volume 104, Issue 2, June 2021., 2021
Abstract We have suggested the current‐induced magnetic modulation spectroscopy (CIMMS) to detect human cardiopulmonary activity in sediment for lifesaving. Initially, a Finite Element (FE) model of human in sediment was developed to simulate impedance change by human cardiopulmonary activity and an optimal electrode arrangement was estimated to detect

Enhanced giant magnetoimpedance in heterogeneous nanobrush [PDF]

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2012
Abstract A highly sensitive and large working range giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect is found in the novel nanostructure: nanobrush. The nanostructure is composed of a soft magnetic nanofilm and a nanowire array, respectively fabricated by RF magnetron sputtering and electrochemical deposition.

Tailoring of Magnetic Softness and Magnetoimpedance of Co‐Rich Microwires by Stress Annealing

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 218, Issue 12, June 2021., 2021
Stress annealing allows avoiding magnetic hardening and remarkably improving the magnetic softness and giant magnetoimpedance ratio of Co‐rich microwires. Properly stress‐annealed Co‐rich microwires present almost unhysteretic loops with coercivity about 2 A m−1 and magnetic anisotropy field about 35 A m−1.

Frequency and Magnetic Field Dependence of the Skin Depth in Co-rich Soft Magnetic Microwires

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2016
We studied giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect in magnetically soft amorphous Co-rich microwires in the extended frequency range. From obtained experimentally dependences of GMI ratio on magnetic field and different frequencies we estimated the ...
