Laser‐Guided Self‐Assembly of Thin Films into Micro‐Rolls

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 34, Issue 19, May 10, 2024.
Combining laser scribing techniques and strain engineering techniques, a laser‐guided self‐assembly strategy is developed to manufacture 3D micro‐rolls from thin films. This dry‐release strategy is highly scalable and viable in the atmosphere, and achieves precise control of self‐assembly behavior (including self‐rolling areas, curvatures, orientations,

Giant magnetoimpedance effect at GHz frequencies in amorphous microwires

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
Studies of magnetic properties and GMI effect of amorphous Co-Fe rich microwires reveal that they present GMI effect at GHz frequencies. Magnetic field dependences of GMI effect are affected by the post-processing conditions.

Giant Magnetoimpedance Effect in NiFeMo Permalloy Ribbon

open access: yesMaterials Transactions, JIM, 2000
In the present paper, the dc longitudinal field and ac frequency dependence of the magnetoimpedance, magnetoresistance, magnetoreactance and magnetoimpedance-phase of NiFeMo permalloy ribbon are investigated. The value of the magnetoimpedance ratio (Z(0) - Z(5172A.m -1 ))/Z(0) of NiFeMo permalloy ribbon can reach 39.54% at 0.3MHz.

Understanding of double-curvature shaped magnetoimpedance profiles in Joule-annealed and tensioned microwires at 8-12 GHz

open access: yes, 2014
We have investigated for the first time the combined effect of current and stress on the GMI characteristics of vanishing-magnetostrictive Co-rich microwires at microwave frequency.

A Magnetoelastic Twist on Magnetic Noise: The Connection with Intrinsic Nonlinearities

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 34, Issue 9, February 26, 2024.
Magnetoelastic nonlinearity significantly limits the performance of devices that use ferromagnetic films as sensitive elements. By introducing a comprehensive theory of magnetic noise in sensor systems, previously unrecognized noise sources linked to magnetoelasticity are revealed.
