Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

The chromosphere and prominence magnetometer

open access: yes, 2012
The Chromosphere and Prominence Magnetometer (ChroMag) is conceived with the goal of quantifying the intertwined dynamics and magnetism of the solar chromosphere and in prominences through imaging spectro-polarimetry of the full solar disk.

2D Co‐Mo‐Hydroxide‐Based Multifunctional Material for the Development of H2‐Based Clean Energy Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
2D α‐Co(OH)2 interleaved with Mo species displays an appealing dual functionality for the production and use of green hydrogen.Mo incorporation greatly benefits the electrochemical behaviour in Oxygen Evolution Reaction for H2 production, while the magnetocaloric response at liquid H2 temperature paves the way for alternative cryogenic refrigerants ...

From Thin Films to Nanodots: Bottom‐Up Integration of Fe3O4 on Nb:STO for Functional Oxide Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Scalable bottom‐up fabrication of Fe3O4 nanodots on Nb:SrTiO3 using anodic alumina templates enables long‐range ordered arrays with diameters down to 30 nm. STEM highlights the epitaxial growth of Fe3O4 films on Nb:SrTiO3. Complementary polarized neutron reflectometry (PNR) and X‐ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) measurements on continuous films ...

Liquid Metal Microrobots for Magnetically Guided Transvascular Navigation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid metal‐based microrobots combine magnetic steering, intrinsic X‐ray visibility and softness, to navigate blood vessels even against flow. Under clinically relevant magnetic fields, liquid metal microrobots roll along vessel walls, cross endothelial barriers, and accumulate in target tissues.

Magneto-Inertial Integrated Navigation System Design Incorporating Mapping and Localization Using Concurrent AC Magnetic Measurements

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
A new artificially generated magnetic-field-based alternative navigation technique is investigated for achieving seamless navigation in non-line-of-sight (NLOS) environments where satellite navigation is unavailable, and where vision, lidar, and other ...

Effects of Magnetic Fields Around Contact Lines on Magnetometers

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
When a current of ~300 A flows through a contact line that supplies power to a high-speed train traveling at maximum speed, it forms a strong magnetic field.

In-Situ Measurement of Electrical-Heating-Induced Magnetic Field for an Atomic Magnetometer

open access: yesItalian National Conference on Sensors, 2020
Electrical heating elements, which are widely used to heat the vapor cell of ultrasensitive atomic magnetometers, inevitably produce a magnetic field interference.

Field‐Free, Deterministic Giant Spin‐Orbit Torque Switching of 1.3 T Perpendicular Magnetization With Symmetry‐Lifted Topological Surface States

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We show a giant, bias‐field free, deterministic, spin‐orbit‐torque switching of perpendicular hard magnets with HC over 1.3 T. By combining the three‐fold 3m symmetry from topological insulator surface states with the rectangular mm2 symmetry from the 2 x 1 intercalation in Cr3Te4, the interface symmetry is significantly reduced into a unidirectional m
