Field‐Programmable Mobile Magneto‐Photonic Metaparticles for Active Light Manipulation and Steering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report magneto‐photonic metaparticles that integrate magnetic actuation with nanoimprinted metagratings, enabling mobile and programmable beam steering in aqueous environments. This platform achieves real time, directional light control beyond static or line‐of‐sight systems, while remaining compatible with scalable fabrication, providing a ...

Magnetic DNA Origami Nanorotors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic actuation is a powerful and broadly applicable actuation mechanism due to its programmability and compatibility with biological entities. Here we demonstrate magnetic DNA origami nanorotors (MADONAs) by assembling magnetic nanocubes on DNA origami.

Mechanically Assisted Magnetic Actuation in Ceramic‐Based Microscrolls for Fast and Durable Soft Robotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ceramic‐based V2O5/Fe3O4 hybrid films are shaped into butterfly‐proboscis‐inspired microscroll actuators. Magnetic triggering initiates unrolling, while geometry‐programmed elastic strain energy drives rapid recoil, enabling fast, reversible, durable, and load‐bearing actuation under near‐field magnetic stimulation.

TESCLA: A Fully Soft Electromagnetic Linear Actuator With Continuous Bending Enabled by Liquid‐Metal Solenoids

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
TESCLA (tubular electromagnetic soft conformal linear actuator) combines liquid‐metal solenoids and compliant magnetic composites to achieve large‐stroke bidirectional actuation with continuous bending. Integrated inductance‐based self‐sensing enables proprioceptive position estimation without external sensors, providing a versatile platform for soft ...

Combining Physics and Mathematics Learning: A Taylor Series Analysis of an Oscillating Magnetic Field

open access: yesMultidisciplinary Journal for Education, Social and Technological Sciences
In this work, we present a simple and low-cost experiment designed to study the oscillations of the magnetic field created by a cylindrical magnet under two different conditions: far and short distances from the magnetic sensor.

Rotating Fluorescent Nanodiamond Assemblies With Focused Laguerre–Gaussian Beams

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled fluorescent nanodiamond clusters are optically trapped and driven into controlled two‐dimensional rotation with Laguerre–Gaussian beams. With localized optical excitation, optically detected magnetic resonance spectra are collected at defined points along the orbit in a uniform external magnetic field.

Human‐Scale Rotating Magnetic Field Delivery With Permanent Magnets Under Anatomic and Robotic Constraints

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Rotating magnetic fields (RMFs) are widely used for microrobot propulsion and control. We show that RMF generation with permanent magnets is mechanically feasible for many limb and intracranial applications but becomes constrained for thoracic targets.

A Lorentz force MEMS magnetometer

open access: yes2016 IEEE SENSORS, 2016
This paper presents a Lorentz force magnetometer with a MEMS resonator structure as a sensor. Magnetometer composed of a resonator and a grill structure. The grill structure reduces the heat generation due to the current required to generate the Lorentz force.

Wireless Precise Manipulation of Tumor Spheroids Using a Millirobot Controlled by Permanent Magnetic Traps

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A magnetic donut‐like millirobot is developed for label‐free pick‐and‐place of a tumor spheroid wirelessly controlled by a magnetic trap. Spheroids are important 3D multicellular culture systems that recapitulate key structural and functional features of native tissues.
