Cavity Optomechanical Magnetometer [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2012
A cavity optomechanical magnetometer is demonstrated where the magnetic field induced expansion of a magnetostrictive material is transduced onto the physical structure of a highly compliant optical microresonator. The resulting motion is read out optically with ultra-high sensitivity.

Feedback Methods for Vector Measurements Using an All-Optical Atomic Magnetometer

open access: yesSensors, 2023
In this work, we look to compare three methods of feedback for the ultimate purpose of measuring the transverse vector components of a magnetic field using a synchronous light-pulse atomic scalar magnetometer with a few tens of fT/Hz sensitivity in Earth-

Kinetic inductance magnetometer [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2014
Ultrasensitive magnetic field detection is utilized in the fields of science, medicine and industry. We report on a novel magnetometer relying on the kinetic inductance of superconducting material. The kinetic inductance exhibits a non-linear response with respect to DC current, a fact that is exploited by applying magnetic flux through a ...
