Behavior of vortices near twin boundaries in underdoped $Ba(Fe_{1-x}Co_{x})_{2}As_{2}$
We use scanning SQUID microscopy to investigate the behavior of vortices in the presence of twin boundaries in the pnictide superconductor Ba(Fe1-xCox)2As2. We show that the vortices avoid pinning on twin boundaries.

Strain Engineering of Magnetoresistance and Magnetic Anisotropy in CrSBr
Biaxial compressive strain significantly enhances magnetoresistance and critical saturation fields in thin flakes of the 2D magnet CrSBr, along all three crystallographic axes. First‐principles calculations link these effects to strain‐induced increases in exchange interactions and magnetic anisotropy.

C16 Phase High Entropy Borides With High Magnetic Anisotropy
Rare‐earth‐free C16‐phase high entropy boride thin films exhibit enhanced magnetic anisotropy with coercivities surpassing their binary and ternary counterparts. Combinatorial synthesis of (Fe‐Co‐Ni‐Mn)2B films combined with density functional theory enables mapping of the magnetic properties across the composition space, revealing high entropy ...

Uniform monolayer Cr2Ge2Te6 films are achieved on Si substrates by molecular beam epitaxy. Intrinsic ferromagnetism with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy is established in the films by anomalous Hall effect and superconducting quantum interference device measurements, albeit with strong magnetic fluctuations characteristic of its 2D nature.

A methodological framework is presented for combinatorial REBCO thin films fabricated by drop‐on‐demand inkjet printing with controlled Rare Earth composition gradients. Automated, synchrotron‐based, and local characterization techniques produce comprehensive property maps that correlate composition and TLAG process parameters with superconducting ...

Unusually low metal–ligand bond orders are observed in high spin iron(II) pnictogenidene (PH2– and AsH2–) complexes. Electronic structure analysis provides evidence for multiconfigurational character that attenuates the metal–ligand multiple bond character normally that is typically associated with pnictogenidene ligands. These complexes can be used to

Maar‐diatreme volcanoes are small volcanic structures with a funnel‐shaped crater surrounded by a tephra‐ring. They are usually formed by the explosive phreatomagmatic eruptions when groundwater comes into the contact with magma.

Nanotesla torque magnetometry using a microcantilever [PDF]
We present a novel ultrasensitive magnetometry technique using a micromachined magnetic antilever that is brought in resonance. The induced magnetic moment generates a torque on the cantilever, thereby effectively stiffening the cantilever spring ...
