Observational Evidence of Large‐Scale Multiple Reconnection at the Earth's Dayside Magnetopause
Magnetic flux ropes of various scale sizes have been observed at the Earth's magnetopause for four decades. These multiple structures resulting from reconnection have complex internal field and plasma signatures, and evolve as they propagate along the ...

Abstract The soft X‐ray imager (SXI) on the SMILE mission promises to revolutionize our understanding of the magnetopause by observing solar wind charge exchange emission from the magnetosheath on a global scale. The primary goal of this instrument is to infer the position and shape of the magnetopause from these images.

Structure, force balance, and topology of Earth’s magnetopause
Probing the structure of the magnetopause The magnetopause is the boundary in space that separates the region dominated by Earth’s magnetic field (the magnetosphere) from the surrounding solar wind. The four spacecraft of NASA’s Magnetospheric Multiscale

Energetic electron acceleration observed by MMS in the vicinity of an X‐line crossing
During the first months of observations, the Magnetospheric Multiscale Fly's Eye Energetic Particle Spectrometer instrument has observed several instances of electron acceleration up to >100 keV while in the vicinity of the dayside reconnection region ...
