Preparation of magnetorheological fluid and its application in a magnetorheological damper

Physics of Fluids
To enhance the mechanical properties of built-in valve-type magnetorheological dampers, a new magnetorheological fluid (abbreviated as HCMN-MRF) prepared using hydroxylated carbon nanotubes (HCNT)-coated micrometer-sized carbonyl iron particles (CIPs) mixed with nano-sized iron particles (NIPs) was investigated in this study.

Magnetorheological valve in servo applications

Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, 2011
In this article, the servo property of a high-performance magnetorheological valve will be evaluated by closing the pressure feedback loop. The magnetorheological valve developed in this study has two separately controllable fluid flow channels and is especially designed for high-frequency applications.

Magnetorheological Fluids Flow Modelling Used in a Magnetorheological Brake Configuration

2019 International Conference on ENERGY and ENVIRONMENT (CIEM), 2019
This paper focuses on the behavior of two conventional magnetorheological fluids (MRF 132 DG and MRF 336 AG) together with a non-conventional one (SMR 35% Fe). First, the magnetic flux density of the applied magnetic field was compared with the magnetic flux density of magnetic field in each of our samples.

BEHAVIOR OF THICK MAGNETORHEOLOGICAL ELASTOMERS

Electro-Rheological Fluids and Magneto-Rheological Suspensions, 2011
In this study, the behavior of thick magnetorheological elastomers is experimentally investigated. Two types of magnetorheological elastomer specimens of varying concentrations, with circular and rectangular shapes having thicknesses from 6.35 mm to a maximum of 25.4 mm, are prepared.

MAGNETOSTRICTIVE PHENOMENA IN MAGNETORHEOLOGICAL ELASTOMERS

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2002
A host of fascinating and useful magnetic phenomena are found in composites containing magnetizable particles in viscoelastic solids. Embedding magnetically soft iron particles in natural rubber produces a class of magnetostrictive composites sometimes termed magnetorheological (MR) elastomers. We have previously shown that these materials can exhibit

Magnetorheological Brake for Haptic Rendering

2008
This paper addresses the design and characterization of a single-disk magnetorheological fluid brake developed for haptic rendering. An analytical method was used for dimensioning. Brake is tested under constant current and velocity inputs. We observe that torque has a low dependence on velocity and that it has a hysteretic evolution with current as a ...
