On the structural parameters of magnetorheological damper
International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2010A novel magnetorheological (MR) damper is presented in this paper. The check valves of the MR damper are configurated in order that the flow direction of the MR fluid is one-way, and the stretch damping force is greater than the compression damping force.

Self-Powered Magnetorheological Dampers
Aerospace, 2006This paper addresses the feasibility and effectiveness of a self-powered magnetorheological (MR) damper operated by the energy harvested from vibration and shock environment. For doing so, an energy-harvesting device is theoretically constructed and added to an MR damper.

The characteristics of regenerative magnetorheological damper
2016 IEEE Advanced Information Management, Communicates, Electronic and Automation Control Conference (IMCEC), 2016Aiming at the problem of large energy consumption of the magnetorheological semi-active suspension, a kind of integrated regenerative magnetorheological damper is proposed. The improved polynomial model of the magneto rheological damper and the electromagnetic induction regenerative model are established.

Phenomenological Model for Magnetorheological Dampers
Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1997Semiactive control devices have received significant attention in recent years because they offer the adaptability of active control devices without requiring the associated large power sources. Magnetorheological (MR) dampers are semiactive control devices that use MR fluids to produce controllable dampers.

Magnetorheological dampers in shear mode
Smart Materials and Structures, 2007In this study, three types of shear mode damper using magnetorheological (MR) fluids are theoretically analyzed: linear, rotary drum, and rotary disk dampers. The damping performance of these shear mode MR dampers is characterized in terms of the damping coefficient, which is the ratio of the equivalent viscous damping at field-on status to the damping

Electromagnetic Design of a Magnetorheological Damper
Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, 2008This study presents an electromagnetic design methodology for the magnetorheological (MR) damper. To improve the performance of the MR damper, the magnetic field should be effectively supplied to the MR fluid. Therefore, it is important that the magnetic circuit composed with the MR fluid, the ferromagnetic yoke for forming the magnetic flux path, and ...
