Predicating magnetorheological effect of magnetorheological elastomers under normal pressure

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2013
Magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) present reversible change in shear modulus in an applied magnetic field. For applications and tests of MREs, a normal pressure must be applied on the materials. However, little research paid attention on the effect of the normal pressure on properties of MREs.

Dynamic properties of magnetorheologic elastomer

open access: yesRakenteiden Mekaniikka, 2007
Machinery and buildings often have to be protected from vibrations. The needed reductionof dynamic response can be achieved efficiently with semi-active isolation. One way to usesemi-active isolation is to install vibration isolators between the base and the object to beprotected and control the dynamic properties of these isolators.

Molecular dynamics and experimental analysis of energy behavior during stress relaxation in magnetorheological elastomers

open access: yesScientific Reports
The diverse applications of magnetorheological elastomer (MRE) drive efforts to understand consistent performance and resistance to failure. Stress relaxation can lead to molecular chain deterioration, degradation in stiffness and rheological properties,

The Mechanical Properties of a Smart Compression-Type Isolator Based on Magnetorheological Gel and Magnetorheological Elastomer

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
In order to control the vibration of civil building structures, a smart extrusion-type isolator was developed based on magnetorheological gel (MRG) and magnetorheological elastomer (MRE).

Magnetorheological Elastomers: Experiments and Modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
National audienceMagnetorheological elastomers (MREs) are ferromagnetic particle impregnated elastomers whose mechanical properties are altered by the application of external magnetic fields. Due to their magnetoelastic coupling response MREs are finding
