Analysis and evaluation of temperature field and experiment for magnetorheological fluid testing devices

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2021
When a large amount of heat is produced during the operation of a MRF (magnetorheological fluid) testing device, the temperature of the device will increase, which will in turn affect the characteristics of the MRF.

Magnetorheological finishing (MRF) of potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) crystals: nonaqueous fluids development, optical finish, and laser damage performance at 1064 nm and 532 nm

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 2009
Over the past year we have been working on specialized MR fluids for polishing KDP crystals. KDP is an extremely difficult material to conventionally polish due to its water solubility, low hardness, and temperature sensitivity. Today, KDP crystals are finished using single-point diamond turning (SPDT) tools and nonaqueous lubricants/coolants.

Magnetic‐Driven Viscous Mechanisms in Ultra‐Soft Magnetorheological Elastomers Offer History‐Dependent Actuation with Reprogrammability Options

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 35, September 18, 2025.
Magnetically induced microstructural rearrangements in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers modulate their viscoelasticity, enabling programmable mechanical memory. Magnetic actuation induces long‐term viscous relaxation and double‐bumping stress responses due to particle chain formation.
