Phosphate Coating On The Surface Of Carbonyl Iron Powder And Its Effect In Magnetorheological Suspensions [PDF]
Two types of carbonyl iron powders, (CIP's, BASF AG), the HS and HS-I (I = insulated, due a coating with phosphate), and two kinds of silica, one hydrophobic (Cab-O-Sil@ TS610) and other hydrophilic (Cab-O-Sil@ M5), were used to evaluate the influence of

Grasping the behavior of magnetorheological fluids in gradient pinch mode via microscopic imaging [PDF]
Magnetorheological (MR) fluids are suspensions of micrometer-sized ferromagnetic particles in a carrier fluid, which react to magnetic fields. The fluids can be operated in several fundamental modes.

A Smart Fluid‐Hydraulic System Based on MRF Valve Control and Its Application in Flexible Grasping
This study introduces a smart fluid hydraulic system using MRF valve control for flexible gripping. An MRF‐MSV with an integrated excitation coil and micro‐textured damping channels is designed and validated; micro‐texturing increases hydraulic resistance. Coupled with a soft actuator, the MRF‐MSV enables dynamic bending and grasping.
